I help people work through anxiety and traumatic events they have experienced in life. Some have been in the battlefield of war, many have been in the battlefield of their own home. The very place where safety and nurturing were expected became the source of fear and confusion. Some can't really remember trauma, they have just always known this sense of dread and excessive worry. My mission is to create an accepting and supportive environment that helps you recognize patterns in your life that maintain your distress and find new thoughts and actions that will bring you the freedom to become the best version of yourself.

I am fully licensed in both MS and LA. Life can be full of challenges and we navigate each day as best we can. I am here to help you find direction in your life, discover who you are / who you want to be, and help navigate those difficult relationships whether interpersonal, marital, or other. I welcome to discuss and process life challenges and offer tools to help you navigate day-to-day difficulties and anxieties. I offer a listening ear and a comfortable space in which respect and acceptance are a top priority. I have experience with adolescent, marital, pre-marital, couples, individual, group(s), and family counseling.

Dr. Collins' optimistic positive counseling, humanistic integrative scope of practice is a form of compassionate supportive therapy to assist in enhancing the client’s perception of self-efficacy toward changing their maladaptive behaviors while discovering their strengths that lead to positive interactions with themselves and others.

I help my clients identify and resolve underlying issues contributing to anxiety, depression, unhealthy relationship patterns and more. Our meetings will offer you a time to be able to understand yourself & your behaviors more fully, and also be challenged to change the behaviors that are no longer serving you. Clinical psychoeducation & homework will be tailored to your specific goals. I endeavor to make my therapy room a place where you will feel seen & supported, while also being equipped with the skills and information to make the changes you desire.

I am an In-Network provider with BlueCross BlueShield (MS and AHS), United Healthcare/Optum, and Aetna. I offer both in-office and virtual counseling services in a live video format.

I believe counseling is a process of exploration, discovery, and personal growth. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug counselor. I earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Texas, at Tyler Texas. I have 20 years experience in counseling individuals, groups and families. I enjoy helping people to consider new perspectives and to experience health and joy in their lives and relationships.
