Hi! I'm Allie Wilson, MA, LPC, owner of Brave Steps Counseling, LLC. Anxiety manifests itself differently for each person, but often includes the words "what if?" and offers a way out through avoidance, worry, rituals and reassurance. These behaviors are often automatic and seem uncontrollable; however, they are not effective long-term and only serve to increase anxiety rather than provide true help. Some people feel bullied by their anxiety and despair of life ever changing, yet there is hope for a life that is not controlled by anxiety or obsessive thoughts.

I am privileged to work with two specific groups of people: Christian ministry professionals and pastors, and those who suffer from OCD or anxiety disorders. Before joining Ellie as an LPC, my career was anchored within the public school system as a parent, substitute teacher, special education teacher, psychological examiner, and school-based therapist. Although children, teens, and young adults were my focus, I often found myself equally supporting guardians. My desire is to help clients of all ages use their strengths to find creative, practical, realistic ways to approach life's challenges.

After retiring as Director of Counseling at Lindenwood University, I moved to Warren County; I live in Wright City and now practice videotherapy from my home office. I have been an LPC in Missouri since 1987, and the author of two books. I very much enjoy working with clients; I have a professional, energetic, friendly style. As a systems therapist, I approach clients in an interdependent manner... never in isolation. Even when working with individual clients, I am mindful of how their myriad relationships affect them...and how they affect others. I think of all clients psycho-biologically. IFS and ketamine are new interests.
