In my 25 years of practice I have helped adults, children and teens overcome a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, anger problems and alcohol/drug addictions using traditional (cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy) and non-traditional (Eastern philosophy and meditation, and art therapy) methods. I believe that all people have the ability to help themselves, but sometimes due to overwhelming life circumstances, hardships, and crises; they become "stuck."
My role as a therapist is to help you to mobilize your own resources, tap into your inner strengths, and activate your own self-healing processes. This can be accomplished using individual, family and group therapies, based on your specific treatment needs.
For recent MSW graduates and other new clinicians, I offer mentoring, consultation, and clinical supervision at reasonable rates. I am approved by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners as a clinical supervisor.
