Psychotherapy is not always about focusing on the problems in life but is often more about solution building. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes – helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve your goals. It works by helping you to overcome problems using solution building concepts to foster change and helping you to develop a set of clear, concise and realistic goals. I help individuals, couples and families find their way again. I am a LGBTQ+ affirming, and gender-affirming therapist.
There is no one type of therapy/modality that works for every person. I can offer guidance, psychoeducation and support, but I strongly believe that you are the expert of yourself. Although I have been trained in a variety of modalities (EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Family Systems, etc.) my goal is to teach concrete coping skills & foster resilience.
I value working with adolescents and adults in a supportive non-judgmental way. I assist clients who may be challenged with shame, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, eating disorders, substance use issues/recovery, communication issues, parent/child relationship difficulties, lack of self-care, and low self-esteem.
