I gained four years of training and experience in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety disorders at UCLA.
I strive to create a supportive therapeutic relationship with you and to provide a safe relational space, which I believe are especially important if you feel vulnerable or are in emotional pain. I take an active role in session to help you heal and reclaim your inner voice and truth. I ask probing questions designed to uncover conscious and unconscious barriers to achieving your best life.

Having experienced chronic pain, OCD, anxiety and depression, I enjoy working with people who also have these conditions and are looking for guidance and support from someone who better understands what they are going through. I know how hard and isolating it can be to cope with pain or a mental illness. My aim is create a safe space where you can share your feelings and hardships without fear of judgment while I use evidence-based treatments to help you develop the skills needed to treat these concerns. Note: I now do in-person hiking sessions in Los Feliz (as featured in the LA Times) as well as on the basketball court!

You might be feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or stuck in a cycle of stress. My experience working with clients who work in high-stress careers gives me an understanding of work-life balance stress and having little time to work through anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma and grief/loss. Sessions with me are structured, direct, and we create goals and develop the tools to authentically and confidently confront your stress. With years of extensive training with hundreds of clients at a top treatment center in Southern California, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help you become a healthier you.

I specialize in helping men with distressing sexual feelings and behaviors, especially those with same-sex sexualized attachments and OCD, to pursue psychological and spiritual healing, in order to live more joyfully.
Are you struggling with sexual identity questions? Do you feel burdened by excessive religious or moral fears? Do you desire to live life more joyfully, free from obsessive compulsive scrupulosity?! Many people contact with experiences of unwanted sexual feelings and behaviors. As a clinician trained in Reintegrative Therapy, which is an evidence-based approach shown to treat trauma memories and trigger spontaneous shifts in client’s sexual feelings as a result, I believe people deserve access to therapeutic support which will help them resolve sexual difficulties in a manner in line with their sincerely held religious beliefs.

I specialize in the treatment of complex trauma, OCD, depression and anxiety. I strive to create safety with each person I work with so we can explore what is going on emotionally, physically, cognitively and spiritually. Trauma and stress live in the body and, in my experience, an integrated approach is most helpful, where we pay attention to feelings, physical sensations, thoughts, behaviors and images that arise during sessions. I also utilize mindfulness, and inner child healing. We will work together moving towards your goals, so that as you feel better, you will have more freedom to become the person you want to be.

I mosty work with clients dealing with anxiety, OCD, insomnia, adult ADHD, social anxiety, difficulties with stress management, and life transitions.
Selecting a new therapist can be a little intimidating. This may be your first time seeking a therapist or you may have some experience with therapy. My commitment is to make the process of beginning therapy as smooth as possible. One of the most important aspects of being a human being is the ability to empathize with someone else. Therapy ought to be a time and space in which we can share our experience and sense that we are actually heard, seen, understood, and affirmed.

Life can be tough. Feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings can make it feel even tougher. Worries that paralyze you or keep you from the life you want. Intrusive obsessive thoughts that get you lead to cycles of avoidance, reassurance, and actions that you take to try to get rid of them. The low lows of your mood, energy, and motivation. And all the other ways these struggles may present during times of stress or life transitions, including hair pulling, skin picking, or body dysphoria. These concerns emerge for children, teens, and adults alike. All of whom simply want a life without mental and emotional suffering.

I work with adults who experience depression, anxiety disorders (agoraphobia, panic disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias), OCD, relationship challenges or loss, phase-of-life stressors, procrastination, & LGBTQ or Race related trauma.
Compared to many other psychologists, my therapy style may be more goal oriented, assertive, and with a stronger focus on observing and measuring therapeutic progress over longer term emotional processing. My approach is based on my belief that we do have the power to create healthy emotions & dismantle unwanted emotions. When meeting with you, I'll want to understand how your ongoing circumstances, emotions, behaviors, or thoughts impact the short term as well as the overall outcomes in your life. I base my treatment on evidenced-based inventions, eastern & wellness perspectives, and a conscious awareness approach.

I specialize in addressing concerns related to OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life adjustment issues. I aim to work collaboratively with my clients to empower them to find the solutions that work best for them. I have significant clinical experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, Incarcerated populations, ADHD, as an ally for LGBTQ+ populations, Inpatient facilities addressing Self-Harm and Suicidal Behaviors, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Psychosis, OCD, and Personality Disorders.
Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do, or think the way that you think? Or have you been feeling stuck in a feeling and want to make a change? I do my very best to create a safe space for my patients and make authentic observations about lifestyle, thinking patterns, relationship/attachment styles, and clinical symptoms so that you can understand yourself better. Sometimes starting therapy with a new clinician can be a challenging and/or intimidating process, and I try to be as realistic as possible. I also understand that no one is perfect, and I come from a person-centered non-judgmental approach to therapy.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
