If you feel unsupported—or suffer from grief, anxiety, depression, or trauma — I offer professional help in a warm and safe environment. I have a wide and eclectic background and specialize in working with individuals who want a depth psychology that gets at the root of their issues. I see psychotherapy as a partnership, a mutual effort towards healing the psyche as well as a search for vitality, renewal and meaning. My orientation to psychotherapy is based on the simple understanding that the psyche, like the body, will heal itself if we create the right conditions for change to occur.
As a psychotherapist trained in Jungian depth psychology, I assume that the difficulties you experience are invitations to seek a more meaningful life. The goal of our time together is not just to relieve symptoms but to discover who you are becoming. My history as a tenured professor and director of a psychology institute is fully integrated into my work.
The most important part of any psychotherapy is the relationship. It's important for you to feel comfortable with me. I offer a free initial consultation, usually about 20-30 minutes, so that we can see if we're a good fit. To find out more about me or my approach to psychotherapy, please visit my website.

I often work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, or trauma related to the past. There is sometimes a relief of symptoms in the first few months, having to do with being fully witnessed (or, in the case of PTSD, from somatic release). A more complete freedom from symptoms, however, usually only appears after the transformation of toxic material in the unconscious.
