As a therapist active in the field of counseling for 5 years, I have experience working with men, women, and teenagers navigating through anxiety, depression, addiction (personal/familial), eating disorders, OCD, co-dependency issues in relationships, faith-related dilemmas, and a variety of traumatic experiences (PTSD, sexual/physical abuse, etc.
I want to applaud you for the courageous act of saying “Yes” to yourself by seeking out professional support. While this can be a necessary step in the journey towards healing, I recognize for many of us, it can be an intimidating ( and even scary) step, to say the least. Whether it's the feeling of anxiety overtaking you, depression debilitating you, or just the stresses of life overwhelming you, you are not alone! My hope is to create a safe space for your emotional pain and help you not only get "unstuck", but to explore together how you got derailed in the first place.

Anxiety Disorders such as panic disorder and OCD need specific treatments: CBT, or Exposure and Response Prevention.
Are you suffering with severe daily anxiety about work or relationships? Do you experience disturbing flashes of traumas such as sexual violence, abuse, disasters or the death of a loved one? I am an Anxiety and Trauma Specialist and would love to help. My typical clients experience OCD, panic, derealization, Agoraphobia, insomnia, obsessions, intrusive thoughts, and PTSD symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, dissociation and hyper-vigilance. Most of my clients come in feeling stuck and helpless, like it's never going to get better. We can work together to make it better. PTSD and anxiety are treatable.

I help people of all ages feel more optimistic and enthusiastic about life, without medication. I specialize in the release of depression, anxiety, negativity, jealousy, lack of motivation, weight issues, perfectionism, anger problems and anything that is a result of low self-esteem. If you would like to move through the world with more confidence and ease, you must be willing to see yourself in a different way, and with Rapid Transformational Therapy and hypnotherapy, I can help you achieve that. As human beings, we can get stuck in a pattern of negative thinking and that only keeps us from getting what we want. So, I work with the subconscious mind to change the neural pathways in your brain so that a new way of thinking can change your trajectory in this life, getting you out of your own way and giving you a fresh perspective.

Life is a journey, and in seeking therapy you are taking a step to shape that journey. Choosing a therapist can be difficult, complicated by therapy jargon. To put it simply, we will examine your past, evaluate your present and collaborate on your future. Therapy is not without risk. However, I will provide a safe environment and a non-judgemental ear for you to explore your life and its infinite possibilities. You will determine where you want to go and I will work with you to help you get there. I look forward to hearing from you.

Not accepting new clients
I collaborate with clients dealing with all kinds of issues—depression, anxiety, overwhelm, low self-esteem, body image, OCD, transitions (divorce/breakup, moving, job change, going to college), relationships, sexual/emotional/narcissistic abuse, ADHD, (step-)parenting, grief (various loss), adoption, career, multicultural- and LGBTQ-specific, and more.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified ADHD Professional. I work through a depth-psychology lens to pinpoint and heal developmental and trauma wounds by identifying unconscious/subconscious thoughts that create the symptoms that lead you to therapy. Meanwhile, I simultaneously provide knowledge and tools to empower and guide you to discovery of your true Self. During the pandemic I experienced and then trained in brainspotting, which I use in person, online, and over the phone to nuke the source of stubborn symptoms that have not responded to traditional talk therapy.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
