Working as a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in helping people cope with their issues. I guide my clients in a way that utilizes both their heads and their hearts. Earning my Bachelors of Science in Psychology as well as my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling has provided me with the knowledge, skill, and technique to work towards guiding clients to work towards peace and growth.The desire to motivate people to work towards their goals developed early in my college years when I worked as a mentor for a local community ministry in a small college town.

I have experience working with a wide variety of life problems and mental health disorders, but my primary interests include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), academic issues, panic/phobias, anger management, addiction, couples, marriage, and family relationship issues.

In my perspective, therapy is an investment in your personal growth and a dedication to your overall well-being. I take a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy and help individuals explore and identify strengths and personal successes. I believe that understanding our past and our current life patterns helps to foster internal growth.

I have worked in the schools, prison, DFPS, and hospitals. I use modalities such as DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Task Centered/Problem-Solving Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I have over 10 years of experience in helping adults, couples, individuals, groups, and children with issues such as substance abuse, anger management, behavioral problems, mental health disorders, grief, chronic illnesses, school issues, parenting issues, domestic violence, criminal stipulations, and marital problems. I also offer LCSW Clinical Supervision.

An ideal client seeks change, guidance and willing to take the steps in healing. My purpose is to treat the root of the problem and not the symptoms as healing begins from within. As a former educator, I take my expertise working with individuals based on their individual needs. Currently, as a Middle School Counselor I seek to understand the overall being, awareness and who they are becoming. Together we will focus on the importance of past experiences on present issues in order to evoke awareness, healing and perseverance.
