I also assist men with anger management issues and guide individuals living with depression, anxiety, and panic disorders to pursue their professional, personal, and relational aspirations.
My approach is not just therapeutic; it's life-affirming. I encourage individuals to unearth, embrace, and celebrate their unique gifts that define their true selves. Through a collaborative, explorative, and supportive method, I gently challenge ingrained beliefs that contribute to dysfunction, fostering an environment of non-judgmental acceptance.

Has traditional therapy not worked for you? While sitting in an office might work for some people, it's not for everyone. My sessions all take place walking in a scenic location rather than sitting in a therapy office. This is a mindfulness-based therapy that can make it easier for clients to relax, release physical tension, and connect the mind and body towards reaching their individual goals, all while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Stress, anxiety and depression can surface as reactive anger, sadness, as isolating from others, and just feel exhausting.
I sit with individuals and couples who are ready to confront issues of shame and vulnerability, and seek new ways of communicating. My approach is relational and integrative, trauma-informed, goal-oriented, and may combine talk therapy, CBT tools, somatic (body) awareness, and meditation to access mindfulness, presence and focus.

Samuel Smiles once said "Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us". There are times in our lives when we struggle and feel emotionally powerless. We try to do the best we can but sometimes we need help in appreciating and rediscovering our strengths and developing strategies to help ourselves move forward. I can help you appreciate the strengths you possess and increase your confidence to assist you in all aspects of your life. Life is full of challenges and together we can work toward enhancing your core sense of self.

Life is a journey, it may be a cliché, but it's a statement of truth. Now imagine traveling that journey in a car. Sometimes the road is smooth, and other times, we hit a bump or two and keep on going. Maybe a pothole slows you down, so you pull over because you can't move any longer. You're stuck and can't figure out how to get moving again. You realize you need someone to help you get back on the road.

Life is stressful enough and can be even more challenging when you don't have the right person to talk with. It is often hard to gain clarity and find the right direction for yourself when anxiety, depression, and indecisiveness cloud your view. I believe that counseling is a collaborative journey built on trust, communication, and empowerment to help you find peace, wellness, and fulfillment.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
