People often say, I don't know why I do that, referring to an unfavorable behavior. This is evidence of our unconscious. We are all products of our earliest emotional conditioning. That is fine, if your parents were wonderful, loving, and understanding. For the majority of people, there was some form of negligence and/or dysfunction that occurred due to the complexities of child rearing. We tend to push away what is good for us and seek what is familiar. Unconsciously, we will repeat negative relationship patterns unless addressed. We all are deserving and able to be the best version of ourselves.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and needs to be a good fit for both the client and therapist in order for meaningful work to take place. My approach is empathetic, collaborative, and eclectic – but most of all, personalized to the individual client’s needs. I approach my clients from a non-judgmental standpoint and aim to make each one feel comfortable and safe, as therapy is often the one space a person has that is truly only for them. My goal is to create an environment where my client feels seen, heard, and understood. Together, we will identify problems, create goals, cultivate understanding, and move towards healing.

I believe that the therapeutic journey is one that begins with stepping out of one's comfort zone and welcoming change. I make diligent efforts to create a safe space for my clients to openly talk about vulnerable issues. I work hard to build a strong alliance with my clients as well as a space that reflects my nonjudgmental and supportive stance. I specialize in working with pre-teens, teens, and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts, trauma/ PTSD, adjustment issues, and self-esteem problems. I also provide therapy for challenges that relate to family conflict and divorce.

People want to be heard and understood. I am here to listen and partner with you, as we navigate through your feelings. As we begin, an array of emotions may come up for you, that’s to be expected. But, know that I am here to provide you with a non-judgmental, patient, and empathetic space where you can express yourself freely. By taking an eclectic approach, I encourage you to be an active participant throughout the therapeutic process. I look forward to joining you on your journey of self awareness and clarity. I am committed to enhancing and improving your well being.

Have you ever considered the defining experiences in your life that affect how you currently live your life and how you feel? Are there major challenges with relationships, substance use, loss, work or past trauma? Are your best efforts to avoid suffering keeping you "stuck" on the same path? Are you struggling with feeling you have become someone else's version of you?

I specialize in working with neurodivergent folks who were diagnosed later in life and have experienced invalidation trauma in childhood which led to Big "T" traumas. I know that you are doing the best can at all times, sometimes that means checking off all of the things on the to-do list, and other times, that means stumbling out of bed only to use the bathroom. Our difficulties don't define us. Life presents challenges and it's often our choices in meeting these challenges that determine who we become. Whether you're facing serious medical illness or are providing care-giving for a loved one who is ill, are dealing with emotional pain from divorce, job loss, retirement, parenting issues or marital conflict, my many years of clinical experience offers you expert and sensitive care and comfort. I identify and build upon your existing strengths and provide a place of safety and compassion in which you can share your experience and resolve the obstacles that stand in your way.

The most meaningful thing that you can do for someone, is to genuinely listen. My goal for all who seek counseling, is to help you to be in the driver's seat to your emotions, guiding you towards your true potential, and helping you build true connections with healthy fulfilling relationships. I want you to know that it is okay to feel angry, sad, depressed, embarrassed, unintelligent, needy, and every other emotion; because, when you acknowledge and have control of these emotions, they can guide you to discovering who you are, ask for what you need, and identifying your path in life.

Most people hope to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. I would love the opportunity to help you achieve this. Everyone, at some point, could benefit from support to cope with the hardships. Whether you are having difficulty with a relationship, self-confidence, depression, or anxiety, there are solutions that we can work towards together.
