Do you feel like you're constantly second-guessing yourself, stuck in your head, or carrying the weight of trying to hold everything together? Maybe anxiety, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts, or self-doubt are making it difficult to trust yourself and move forward. Or perhaps the demands of careers, parenting, and daily life have left you and your partner feeling disconnected from one another. When you're caught in these patterns, it can feel exhausting and overwhelming. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), perfectionism, and relationship challenges.

I work with teens and adults, and support individuals navigating depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and the complexities of neurodivergence.
Together, we make space for authenticity—honoring differences, embracing what may feel “out of step,” and recognizing these as meaningful parts of who you are, not something to be fixed. I am deeply committed to therapy as a space rooted in social justice—one that is accessible and affirming for all bodies, identities, and abilities.

When working with children or teens, I focus on connecting with your child—often through art and play.
My job is to facilitate the process of change. I am experienced in helping people with problems in personal relationships and at work. Many of my clients are feeling stuck or unsure about something of importance. They may be struggling with parenting, addiction, or feelings of anxiety, irritability, and deep sadness. Some have experienced something tragic that has left them unmoored and are wondering how to rebuild. Often, the people I work with are associated with colleges and universities. My 20+ years of experience in higher education is a resource in my work as a therapist.

My primary therapeutic focus is to help teenagers and adults to develop a stronger sense of self and to develop the coping skills they will need to address issues of anxiety, self esteem and self worth. I use a non-judgmental, trauma informed and holistic approach to help clients develop their ability to self soothe, including using body/movement and grounding techniques. I focus on both personal autonomy and understanding ourselves in relationships, with the goal of moving out of stuck feelings and thoughts to embody a more curious stance of your experiences and the world around you.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
