As a result, are you feeling anxious or depressed? I enjoy assisting people in navigating their lives and adjusting to transitions. I work with persons across the life span. As a
family therapist
, I work with individual, couples, families, and other relationships.
People seek therapy because of the challenges that come to them through times of transition. If you want to focus on healing without having to worry about a third party monitoring your personal struggles and demanding a diagnosis, I am happy to partner with you directly, creating terms that we negotiate together. Healing is likely the most important task that you'll tend to in your adult life. I will guide you in that process without pathologizing or labeling you. Becoming the fullest expression of yourself is a worthwhile and deeply personal task, not to be compromised by political systems.

We typically take an indirect and playful approach and tailor it to the child's needs within both their own
family
system and their world outside of that.
At The Sanctuary, we work with people of all ages. We believe that all people have infinite worth, so before working with us, know that is our view of you and/or your child already. Our clinicians have been classically trained in many of the greats (IFS, CBT, DBT, play therapy, etc.). The director has additional training in death and dying. With that being said, "Out of all of my credentials as a therapist, my most significant is that I'm a card carrying member of the human race" (Lori Gottlieb). Initially, our aims are to get to know you or your child from a strengths perspective and building a positive rapport.

Therapists are unique in the mental health field because of our systemic orientation.
Harvest House is born out of a deep desire to develop and grow healthy, meaningful, attached relationships with God, self, and one another. The principle of relationship is the fundamental organizing structure of our universe, our world, and ourselves. This principle guides our work as clinicians, colleagues, and friends. This work is hard work; however, it is necessary work. Marriage and

Therapists are unique in the mental health field because of our systemic orientation. Our education and extensive training in the dynamics of relationships set us apart from other clinical practitioners.

You know something needs to change, but possibly don't know where to start. You have the motivation to evolve, but perhaps you need guidance and insight to heal past wounds and begin embracing who you truly are. Beginning your therapeutic journey can provoke a mixture of feelings- anxiety, excitement, relief, and many others. I am here to help you process these emotions at your own pace. When we are able to connect with our intuition and show true compassion to ourselves, we ignite a beautiful light within. It is my hope to assist you in discovering and nurturing all parts of the complex being you are.

Life can be overwhelming at times and hard to manage. In therapy with me, together we will work to cope and work through areas that bring you distress. Feedback I have received from individuals who have entered into therapy with me, is that they felt I was not “a robot” & felt comfortable due to my warm and relatable approach. I have assisted individuals discover & create boundaries, healing from trauma, & overcome daily obstacles such as anxiety attacks and depressive feelings. I have helped couples successfully confront their issues, build communication skills, and understand the dynamics of their relationship more clearly.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
