I specialize in providing integrated EMDR and IFS to LGBTQ+ youth and adults who are impacted by complex trauma and painful past experiences.
Once a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship is established, I help clients understand the neurobiological impact of trauma, often relieving deeply ingrained self-blame. This work supports insight into how the brain and nervous system respond to stress and trauma, reframing these reactions as natural physiological responses rather than personal flaws.

Hi — I’m Elizabeth, a licensed therapist specializing in Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) and EMDR for people who feel “stuck in their body,” overwhelmed by stress, or carrying emotional pain that hasn’t fully healed through talk therapy alone.
Do you feel overwhelmed or disconnected from your body, even when you “know” what you should be feeling? Are your emotions hard to put into words — or do they show up first as tension, anxiety, exhaustion, or shutdown? Are you navigating a major life transition, like new motherhood, and wondering why things feel harder than you expected? As a millennial therapist, my style is grounded, relational, and real. I value warmth, authenticity, and collaboration, and I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood — not analyzed or rushed. I bring structure when it’s helpful and flexibility when it's needed.

Some seasons of life are difficult to navigate, leaving us feeling stuck and isolated. This feeling can come from a variety of reasons such as experiencing grief or a traumatic event, conflict with a loved one, or trouble finding ones own identity. Sometimes the cause of feeling stuck is harder to pinpoint, resulting in feeling anxious, overwhelmed and simply stressed. This experience can lead to addiction, disordered eating, intrusive thoughts and depression. By collaborating we can begin to recognize and break down the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, moving towards a place of alignment and healing.

I’m grounded in psychodynamic work and take an integrative approach, using a range of methods—including EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Breathwork, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)—to address deep-rooted emotional patterns, process unresolved trauma, and accelerate the shift in patterns of thinking and behavior.
I help people turn inward with curiosity, exploring the patterns, beliefs, and assumptions that shape how they experience life. By examining your inner world, you can gain clarity about yourself and how you relate to others. This process fosters a deeper understanding of how your relational patterns and assumptions influence your sense of peace, purpose, and connection. As this awareness grows, relationships and life experiences often become clearer, creating space to live more authentically and with greater fulfillment.

I primarily use EMDR and I also incorporate ACT, IFS, and TEAM-CBT to help you live a life around your values and on your terms.
You’re NOT a “bad” daughter–you’re just DONE being exploited. You’re DONE putting yourself last for nothing in return. You’re DONE being the scapegoat of the family and begging for love you’ll never get. You’re DONE with a high-demand religion or culture that tells you to make yourself smaller to be treated with respect. You’ve tried therapy before. You’ve talked it out and ran around in circles. Nothing worked. You’re DONE with therapy that lacks context or puts other people before your safety. You’re DONE with talk therapy that doesn’t work!

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
