Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC

I work with men who are capable and put-together on the outside, but internally feel stuck, unclear, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. Many of my clients are thoughtful, sensitive, and growth-oriented, but struggle with self-esteem, emotional clarity, confidence, relationships, or a sense of who they really are. My work often focuses on identity, self-worth, inner criticism, shame, emotional expression, dating, marriage, fatherhood, career pressure, and the feeling of needing to “have it all together.” I help men better understand what they feel, what they need, what they want, and how to show up in their lives with more.

You might have a good understanding of yourself, but still feel caught in patterns that don’t seem to change. It can be frustrating to understand something intellectually and still feel stuck in it emotionally. I work with adults navigating life transitions, mood challenges, and the impact of earlier experiences. Many of the people I see are thoughtful and self-aware, and still find themselves repeating patterns. My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic and attachment-based perspective. Together, we look at the present and these patterns—how they developed, what they may be protecting, and why they can be hard to shift.

There is a storm within, and all we seek is inner peace. Do you look like you’re functioning on the outside—showing up, learning, working, caring for others—but inside feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or like you’re carrying more than people realize? I am Here to Help You Feel Less Overwhelmed, More Clear, and More Like Yourself Again. Many people I work with describe overthinking, people pleasing, striving, feeling pressure to be “good enough,” or caught in patterns that leave you emotionally exhausted even when life looks okay from the outside.

Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns they can’t quite explain. Some are dealing with anxiety, relationship stress, or repeating emotional cycles that leave them feeling alone even when surrounded by people. Others are trying to communicate better, rebuild trust, or simply understand themselves on a deeper level. My clients usually want clarity, relief, and a place where they can finally slow down and feel understood, not judged.

You’ve been holding it together for a long time, maybe for everyone else, maybe just to keep life moving. On the surface, things look fine, but inside you might feel tired, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of what’s next. You’ve tried to manage it on your own, but the same patterns keep showing up in relationships, work, or how you talk to yourself. I work with adults ready for meaningful change, who are navigating stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Together, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back and build tools to help you feel grounded, confident, and connected.

We do our best to navigate the chaos of life, but too often our feelings and behaviors feel out of our control. Why do we act in certain ways? Why do we make self-destructive choices? Why do we so often feel anxious and depressed? These incessant questions lead us to feel that our motivations are hidden from us and that our actions may forever elude us. By exploring our past and connecting it to our present, we begin to weave a coherent tapestry that helps us understand why we are the way we are, which in turn helps us make lasting change. This is what I believe therapy is all about.

When children and teens are in crisis, so are their families? Is homework time stressful? Is your child unhappy? Does he/she not have friends? Is the teacher complaining that he/she is not paying attention to the lessons? Are you concerned your child's grades need to improve in order for he/she to be promoted to the next grade level? I help children learn ways to calm themselves so they can better pay attention. Through playing games which may involve math or reading, they begin to feel a sense of success and find learning can be fun.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
