Do you ever think... "I feel like I don't have any control over my emotions", or " I don't understand why I sometimes hurt the people I love", or "I feel so stressed out much of the time". Many of us want to feel better, but do not know how to use positive coping strategies to change our lives for the better. I have experience in helping with those difficult life challenges. I can help guide a person towards a more fulfilling and stable life by using a variety of techniques (CBT; DBT; or EMDR).

By bridging the gap between nutritional science, behavioral sleep medicine & psychedelic-assisted therapy, I provide a truly integrative path toward healing for those who haven't found success in traditional models.
With 24 years of experience, I provide an integrated approach to mental health. My clinical journey began as a mandated school-based counselor for neurodivergent students. Today, I bring a high-level expertise into private practice, blending traditional therapy with nutritional science & behavioral modalities. I specialize in Integrated Nutrition for Mental Health, focusing on the food is fuel, CBT-I & movement for mental health. I have deep expertise in the "opposite ends" of nutritional health—specifically ARFID, REDs & other eating disorders. Lastly, I am trained in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy with Journey Clinical.

How do you get from feeling anxious, depressed, or simply overwhelmed, to feeling good and performing well at your job, with your academics, or in your relationships? By taking two evidence-based treatments (cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy) and adding a warm, supportive, and experienced therapist, the result can be major, positive change. As a therapist who has been working in these modes for over ten years, I have seen these changes first hand, witnessing the personal growth that brings with it a fulfilling life and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you as you build the life you want.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
