I love working with young people. I have 20+ years of experience working with teens & young adults of diverse identities and backgrounds, including two decades as a teacher and advisor in high school and college classrooms.
Having encountered many of life’s crossroads myself, I also find deep meaning working with adults, including adults meeting the challenges of parenthood and adults experiencing the complex changes that life brings. I work with clients who may be struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, life adjustments, family issues, school stress, women's issues, and parent-child strains.
I am passionate about helping adolescents, individuals, families, and couples navigate challenges related to identity, relationships, and emotional regulation. I specialize in family dynamics, couples issues, and supporting survivors of narcissistic abuse. Having grown up with a narcissistic figure, I understand how these relationships can leave you questioning your reality and self-worth. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. In our work, we will rebuild your confidence, help you trust yourself again, and make sense of your experiences, including learning to “grey rock” to protect your peace.

Have you ever felt like your mind knows you’re safe, but your body hasn't received the message yet? True, lasting change happens when we move beyond just talking and begin to listen to the language of your nervous system.
As an EMDR Consultant, I’ve seen how traditional talk therapy can sometimes feel like running in circles. You might understand why you feel the way you do, but the heavy weight of the past still feels physically present. My approach is different: I integrate EMDR and Natural Processing to help you gently bridge that gap between your thoughts and your physical sense of peace.

Life can often be challenging. You may feel you've gotten "off track" and need some direction. You may be overwhelmed with things and don't know what to do or how to make it better. It may be starting to affect your relationships, and you don't know how to stop it. You may be wondering what's wrong with you and why this keeps happening, or whether you're depressed. Perhaps you're having panic attacks that come out of nowhere. Or maybe you seem to have developed social anxiety. Perhaps you just don't feel like yourself or aren't content with your life. You want things to be different, you just don't know how to make that happen. You might be wondering whether you're always going to feel this way. You've got a lot going for you, you've accomplished quite a bit, but it still feels like there's something missing. You're not sure what else to do. Most of us feel this way at some point in our lives. Especially when trying to handle the stress of life, relationships and the impact of certain events all at once.

Clients who are the best fit for me are usually looking to build a life different from what was handed to them. I work joyfully with folks who don't fit in the boxes society creates. This may mean you are hoping to heal from relationships with those who raised you. Or perhaps you are neurodivergent and wanting to figure out how to show up better for yourself in a world that doesn't make a lot of space for how your brain and body work. I'm also here for those who are queer and/or trans who want a therapist that doesn't just accept you, but is with you.

With several years experience working with families, parents, and adolescents in both community and clinic settings, I have had the opportunity of working with people in all walks of life.
With a combination of humor, active listening, silence (the most important work happens in silence), and empathy I aim to provide a safe supportive space for you to identify and achieve your goals. Please note, accountability is important - I will call you out as needed, because I would be doing you a disservice if I did not!

I'm a clinical social worker specializing in respectful parenting, estrangement, mental load, and couples work that goes beneath the argument to the fear or hurt underneath the pattern.
Your family doesn't look the way it used to, and you're not sure whether to fix it or grieve it. Maybe you and your partner have had some version of the same argument for three years and you're both exhausted. Maybe you love your kids and you're still completely depleted by them. Maybe your adult child has pulled away and you don't understand why. Maybe life is fine on paper and you know it could feel better. Or maybe there's no crisis exactly, just a quiet sense that you've been taking care of everyone else for so long that you've completely lost track of yourself. Generic advice from the internet just can't bridge the gap.

These relationships could be with spouses, romantic partners, parents, co-workers, bosses, children or friends.
Getting clear about what shaped you to connect with others is extremely important. If you grew up in abusive relationships, you will often find yourself repeating these relationships in adult life and, unfortunately, unintentionally passing them on to children. Our work will highlight these patterns and create healthier ways of connecting with others.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
