Life can often be challenging. You may feel you've gotten "off track" and need some direction. You may be overwhelmed with things and don't know what to do or how to make it better. It may be starting to affect your relationships, and you don't know how to stop it. You may be wondering what's wrong with you and why this keeps happening, or whether you're depressed. Perhaps you're having panic attacks that come out of nowhere. Or maybe you seem to have developed social anxiety. Perhaps you just don't feel like yourself or aren't content with your life. You want things to be different, you just don't know how to make that happen. You might be wondering whether you're always going to feel this way. You've got a lot going for you, you've accomplished quite a bit, but it still feels like there's something missing. You're not sure what else to do. Most of us feel this way at some point in our lives. Especially when trying to handle the stress of life, relationships and the impact of certain events all at once.

I offer interventions using treatment modalities which include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems ( IFS), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
It’s 2025! It’s time to answer this question honestly: are your relationships helping you….or hurting you? At times, we choose to engage in relationships that are detrimental to our overall wellness. This can be due to many factors, some of which we are unaware of until we dissect what the core factors are. As a Black woman, I also understand the importance of identifying the unhelpful generational patterns and beliefs that ‘root’ us in engaging in relationships that no longer serve us.

I use an eclectic approach, blending IFS, Somatic Experiencing, inner child work, mindful self-compassion, and spirituality.
To fully experience and enjoy life, we must attune to the wisdom within. I provide a confidential, trauma-informed space to explore emotions and somatic sensations, fostering a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others. Mental pain often stems from childhood experiences, transgenerational inheritance, and cultural conditioning deeply embedded in the Western world. I approach healing with this awareness. I also support individuals in psychedelic/ketamine-assisted therapy, offering a safe space for processing and integration. Note: I do not prescribe medication but can connect clients with a licensed prescriber in NYS.

Holistic therapy interventions such as EMDR, internal family systems and inner child work are the evidenced backed approaches I love to use with my clients.
Current openings: Tuesday 12pm biweekly— Many of the individuals I work with report feeling that they're going through life "ticking the boxes", but not really fulfilled. They find themselves struggling with sadness, anger, anxiety, people pleasing, etc. Many times these feelings are connected to negative limiting beliefs about the way we view ourselves and the world. These beliefs often stem from difficult experiences in our childhood. We all have childhood wounds that live in within us and these wounds can subconsciously run our lives. I help my clients release themselves from these wounds and step into their most authentic self.

This is typically followed by either CBT, DBT, ERP, or IFS depending on individual needs and goals.
Looking for a therapist is awkward. You already decided to call a professional, and yet the process feels impersonal and stressful. Maybe anxiety flares when you try to dial the phone, or your depression convinces you it’s not worth the effort. Then the "what if’s" show-up. What if they judge me? What if I fall apart and can’t put myself back together? What if this doesn't help? These are valid concerns and finding a therapist who you connect with might seem impossible. Feeling comfortable, safe, and connected to a therapist is not only your right, it's good treatment and my first priority.

I integrate trauma modalities from IFS, SE, and EMDR trainings.
Living with trauma symptoms can feel deeply isolating. Our bodies possess an innate ability to heal when supported, yet systemic and historic barriers often hinder that recovery. What’s needed is a model that is compassionate and depathologizing. As a somatic trauma therapist, I help you reconnect with your body and cultivate a sense of inner safety, restoring ease to sensations disrupted by past or ongoing experiences. Together, we’ll explore what protective strategies have developed to shield from the pain within, and introduce the support necessary for healing. Clients report feeling more alive, empowered, and connected.

I am trained in DBT, CBT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Progressive Counting for Trauma Processing.
“A bird sitting in a branch is not afraid of the branch breaking - for its trust is not in the tree - but in the strength of its own wings.” It is human to stumble and sometimes we need a gentle reminder of our strengths. We are all human. We have all had moments confronting a loss, having our heart broken, or feeling like we don't belong. You are not alone, and you can get through this. As your therapist, I support and guide you as a gentle presence to remind you of the strength in your wings to grow.

I've treated trauma primarily through IFS and schema-focused therapy.
We can't always choose our burdens, but we can choose how we carry them. Some of us learned the only way to protect ourselves was to isolate, not getting out of bed, endlessly scrolling, and pulling away from the world. Some learned to be on alert, plan for the worst, be ready to fight, and never let their guard down. The good news is we aren't destined to repeat the same patterns for the rest of our lives. Learning to trust ourselves and protect ourselves in healthy ways rather than harmful ways is possible and more available than we think. I have many years of experience with psychedelic integration therapy & integrating NOSC.

I guide clients in healing C-PTSD using EMDR, IFS, somatic awareness, mindfulness, attachment theory, and humor.
Seeking help is a courageous step. If you've spent time in traditional therapy, you've likely made valuable progress. But if talk, insight, and coping haven’t led to lasting change, it may be time for a different approach. I often work with clients who come from families where boundaries were unclear, emotions were misunderstood, connection felt conditional, or abuse was mistaken for love. These challenges run deep, creating patterns of reactivity, anxiety, depression, and painful relationship dynamics. By addressing the root cause, we break cycles of suffering and move beyond mere coping to true healing.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
