We specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and trauma, and we do that often through a combination of CBT therapy (which considers the impact of your thoughts on your emotions and behavior), DBT, mindfulness, EMDR therapy and parts work.
Life can often be challenging. You may feel you've gotten "off track" and need some direction. You may be overwhelmed with things and don't know what to do or how to make it better. It may be starting to affect your relationships, and you don't know how to stop it. You may be wondering what's wrong with you and why this keeps happening, or whether you're depressed. Perhaps you're having panic attacks that come out of nowhere. Or maybe you seem to have developed social anxiety. Perhaps you just don't feel like yourself or aren't content with your life. You want things to be different, you just don't know how to make that happen. You might be wondering whether you're always going to feel this way. You've got a lot going for you, you've accomplished quite a bit, but it still feels like there's something missing. You're not sure what else to do. Most of us feel this way at some point in our lives. Especially when trying to handle the stress of life, relationships and the impact of certain events all at once.

I often use EMDR in my practice with a mixture of DBT, CBT, and Schema therapy.
When life becomes challenging, we look for the light at the end of the tunnel. The light appears far, and we don't believe we can make it. With the help of therapy, the journey becomes bearable.

I am trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and am certified in dialectical behavioral therapy ( DBT), which are evidence based interventions I use often.
I believe everyone needs therapy at least once in their life, as there is no way to be prepared for every situation that life may throw at you. If you're experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma reactions, parent-child strains, school stress, recovering from an abusive relationship, navigating narcissistic relationships, life transitions/adjustments, family conflicts, low self-esteem, body image concerns, and disordered eating, then I can help.

Emily Dickinson’s poem “Not in Vain”, hung on my wall growing up and I often think its essence seeped into my being. She wrote, “If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain: If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain”. As therapists, we choose to work within the world of emotions and behaviors, learning healthy techniques to bring balance to our mind, body, and spirit. Counseling is a judgement free setting, with an objective listener; where everyone is welcome and can be supported.

Hi! I’m Lauren. I’ve been practicing therapy for over 14 years and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing clients. Seeing the growth and awareness that happens in this process is truly remarkable and rewarding for everyone involved. My clients most often come to therapy repeating patterns that they realize are no longer working for them. Both individually and in relationships. My job is to help you identify patterns, to better understand yourself and to give you ways to adjust while staying true to who you are. There are a variety of ways to do this, and each session is geared exactly to your needs.

My style is a combination of strength based with a person-centered focus, along with CBT, DBT and MI modalities to effectively cope.
With multiple areas leaving us with uncertainty, more of us are welcoming the support of therapy into our lives. By taking this next step, it can lead you toward clarity or developing insight into the symptoms you have been experiencing. Ultimately it can empower you and create an environment of healthy change.

I primarily utilize EMDR, DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Harm Reduction.
Just another PT profile, right? Let's look closer. I see you've been trying to find a therapist and someone you can connect with. You may have experience in therapy and are looking to get back at it, or maybe this whole thing is confusing, and you don't know where to start. I am a licensed therapist that happens to be a flawed human. While there are a wide array of issues that I treat, I am most interested in helping other humans address issues with addiction, complex trauma, dissociation, chronic pain and illness.

I utilize a mix of therapy types including Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, and Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy.
We are all resilient people that are amazing at adapting and changing with our environments. When those places are unstable, unsafe or inconsistent, we figure out ways to survive. These patterns or beliefs can soothe us, keep us in control or help us to express ourselves. However for many of us, they can also become a burden and themselves a source of suffering. A complicated mix of discomfort as well as serving a meaningful function. No wonder it’s so hard to make changes, even when we have every good reason to. Taking on these patterns may seem overwhelming, however we can begin anywhere and set goals that makes sense for you.

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy.
I have treated anxiety and panic for over 18 years. Working with me is your chance to become a pro with others and with conflict. To help, I ask a lot of questions and validate your experience. You will become a self-compassionate superstar! I also know that sharing thoughts and feelings brings fears of rejection and judgment, and most people offer oversimplified solutions, but not with me. My goal is to access your strengths and expand self-understanding. We will look closely at what is going on, find the words to express your experiences, and from there, solutions will come forward. Come be my teammate.

Life can be challenging and it can sometimes feel that overcoming the obstacles around us are nearly impossible. Beginning counseling can be an incredibly hard and a challenging experience, but it can also be rewarding. Sometimes it can be challenging to reach out and ask for help. Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
