I have been successful in helping client's reach their full potential when struggling with life events that can lead to anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, addiction, and marital conflicts. When confronted with life stressors, many humans have the tendency to stuff their emotions with drug, alcohol, and food addictions which negatively impact their life and loved ones. I look forward to helping you navigate life's journey and embracing the mind, body, and soul experience in order to work towards a harmonious and rewarding life. Together we can make lasting changes for a healthier lifetime, however the choice is yours!

Life is a series of transitions. We often need help in moving from a place of discomfort to a place of calmness, safety, and satisfaction. The process of psychotherapy can help you get to that better place. I work with individuals, couples, and families with a focus on achieving self-understanding for the purpose of changing situations which are stressful and unpleasant. My practice is all inclusive, treating those seemingly well adjusted yet with nagging underlying dissatisfactions to those experiencing extreme distress, alienation, and shame.

Unfortunately, I am not taking on new clients at this time. You will laugh! Therapy needs a regular dose of levity, and I believe this is essential to longevity of the process. You will also feel heard, put at ease, your feelings validated, hopefully uplifted & inspired, as well as your objectives for mental health improvement identified.

I have nearly 15 years of experience treating individuals (children and adults), couples, families, and groups. My treatment approach is rooted in reducing emotional distress, restoring life balance, improving self-awareness and helping to create more meaningful relationships in your life. I will provide you tools to help reduce and reframe unhealthy and potentially damaging thoughts, resulting in improved comfort with yourself and within your relationships. We may develop a conflict resolution plan to reduce relationship distress and to learn to use your bodily cues as a tool in understanding your own habitual responses.

Let’s walk through the beach, the woods. Take a sip of tea with fresh mint, and enter a world of imagination, creativity, become one with the river, no judgment, safety, healing, serenity, grounding, love, solace, and always meeting you where you’re at. I take a holistic approach and focus on the mind body connection. I believe guided imagery meditation, motivational interviewing, dbt, creativity, psychodynamic, trauma informed care, emdr, and person centered approaches are ideal. I prefer to assist anyone who has felt demoralized or ostracized because of who they are. I believe we can impact the world together one smile at a time.

I believe we long to be ourselves in a society that socializes us to feel and internalize inadequacy. We often find ourselves recreating patterns as a means to cope. Perhaps you have done some self-reflection and are seeking a deeper understanding or have not yet had the opportunity to explore and bring these patterns into awareness at all. In joining with you wherever you may be, I aim to help you strengthen your emotional awareness and develop a greater sense of introspection. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples around various interrelated concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth,
sexuality

People look for a therapist when they are experiencing anxiety, difficulties in relationships, confusion around issues related to
sexuality
and/or identity. Others feel depressed, struggle with addiction, or have a sense that something is not right in their lives. Often people are trying to cope with old hurts or injuries, and find that their old ways of coping with them are no longer successful,or that these strategies are the very thing that brings them pain or frustration.Often these symptoms and problems are connected with early painful experiences,or from ideas and beliefs which have been formed in rigid, or dysfunctional family systems.

Sex Therapy
Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.
Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.
What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.
What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
