I grew up in San Francisco and got my BA from the University of Pennsylvania and my MS in Social work from Columbia University, where I received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. I view my role as being a "Sherpa" (experienced guide), walking with you, helping you acquire the tools, skills and insights to handle life's difficulties and challenges and identifying and navigating the obstacles. We all need help at times, and I will be by your side to provide comfort, support and guidance. I offer both individual therapy and grief support groups. Finding the right "Sherpa" can make all the difference.
I did post graduate training at the Center for Complicated Grief at a Columbia University. I deal with multiple issues of loss, grief, and complicated grief, as well as losses during COVID. I have extensive experience in the prevention/treatment of dating/domestic violence and child abuse, as well as suicide prevention, sexual harassment and sexual assault,
My father died when I was 17. Instead of grieving, I was stoic. I "soldiered" on. Later losses triggered my need to work through my father's death and study the process of loss and grief to help others stuck or struggling. I have presented workshops on Loss and Grief, Complicated Grief, Grief & Holidays, Grief & Loss during Covid and grief support groups.

Although grief is an individual journey and whether you are grieving the death of a husband, brother, mother, sister, father in law or friend due to COVID-19, Group members may share a common thread which is the unique situation and circumstances surrounding the death of your loved one due to the virus. This Group offers individuals a sacred, non-judgmental safe space to grieve the loss of a loved one and share to the extent you wish your grief story and grief experience. This Group is designed to offer you comfort, support and hope.
