In fact, they may be harmful to us and those we love; despite, having previously helped us through some hard times. Recognizing that you are having difficulties is one of the first steps towards making an impactful change in your life. In fact, these are moments where we can work together, in a safe space, to practice new ways of being.

Therapy is most meaningful when you have a clear understanding of the work being done, and can choose a specific approach that aligns with your values and goals. Since there are no one-size-fits-all solutions, our process will involve trying and tracking different approaches tailored to your individual needs, keeping the ones that help, and avoiding painful repetition of strategies that don't help. Together, we will build a process that works, and move at a mutually agreed upon pace and direction toward clarity, understanding, and change.

Do you find yourself worrying too much? Fearing social situations? Fearful? Over-reactive? Do your thoughts and feelings get in the way of living comfortably? Or as an athlete or performer does your anxiety hinder your performance? Through a combination of counseling and coaching support I help anxious and over-reactive people and performers cope better. Working effectively with your feelings and thoughts requires not just understanding why you feel and think the way you do, but also helping you to acquire skills to manage your thoughts and feelings.
I provide evidence-based care for OCD & other anxiety disorders (e.g., panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, etc.). My approach is skills-focused and emphasizes each client’s active participation in care within/between sessions. I tend to view my broad goal as “to put myself out of a job,” meaning that I aim to help you learn more adaptive ways to relate to your current difficulties and actively practice what you learn so that you no longer feel like psychotherapy is necessary. I hope to support you to spend more time doing what you value most and less time on anxious distress/avoidance, getting back to living the life you want.
