For 30 years, my work has been dedicated to adults, children and families, specializing in emotional and behavioral problems. My belief is that most people are committed to doing the best they can & have the capacity for change with the right support and skill. I service clients with a wide range of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder. When children and teens are in crisis, so are their families. Finding a good therapist can be a daunting experience! My office setting is comfortable and inviting & well equipped for therapeutic play. I welcome phone consultation before scheduling an appointment.
My intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has expanded my work to include pre-teens and adolescents with high risk destructive behaviors including suicide and self-injury. DBT skills and concepts are taught to clients and their familiies.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Training

DBT has 3 components; individual therapy, skills training, and phone coaching. The skills training is a 16 week program for teens that teaches DBT skills. The group meets weekly for 90 minutes on Monday nights and cover the following: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills. There is an additional module called 'Walking the Middle Path' that is also offered that involves parents with their children and teaches skills that are essential to families with teens. These skills are the foundation of DBT and are utilized in treatment.
