Life is tough these days and we all need help, particularly with this new pandemic threat and the consequent anxiety and depression it has caused. My therapeutic practice is based on Buddhist compassion and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with alcohol and drug addiction as well as trauma and PTSD clients. I provide a traditional psychological perspective as well as a discovery of your life’s inner meaning, your strengths, your dreams, your creativity, your spirituality, and the socio-cultural context that surrounds you. I am able to create a nourishing, supportive environment that contributes to your healing and transformation.

Clients often come to my practice feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel sustainable. Many appear “put together” on the outside but are struggling internally with anxiety, relationship challenges, or burnout. Couples often seek support to improve communication, rebuild connection, or navigate ongoing conflict. Parents reach out when their child is experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges. Together, we focus on understanding patterns, improving communication, building healthier coping skills, and creating meaningful, lasting change so you can feel more grounded and in control.

Therapy can be a space to slow down and reconnect with yourself, especially the parts of you that may have been silenced, criticized, or pushed aside in order to get by. I approach therapy with deep care and genuine curiosity, offering a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore your experiences, emotions, and inner world. Together, we’ll work toward creating room for healing, self-understanding, and meaningful change, so you can show up more fully and authentically in your life. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

I have several years of providing psychotherapy, including treating survivors of intimate partner violence; treating families and youth in home-based family therapy; and treating couples and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and relational ruptures.
We all feel stuck from time to time. Life transitions or past wounds can make living in the moment difficult. I seek to help clients heal the hurt they feel so they can experience the joys that life has to offer!

Hey, I’m glad you’re here. Looking for a therapist takes courage and patience, especially if you’re skeptical about therapy and don’t love opening up. For many self-reliant people, seeking support can feel like losing control. Maybe you’re here because someone else encouraged you, or because leaning on others has started to feel uncomfortable or unsustainable.

For many people, having a therapist who may look like them, shares a similar culture or community as them, and/or understands the complexities of juggling the Eastern vs Western cultures are vital for the success of their therapeutic journeys. That's where I come in. For the majority of my time in this field, I've been a therapist to folks from within the BIPOC & South Asian diaspora, to immigrants & children of immigrants, and to survivors of gender-based violence & trauma. My expertise in providing culturally aware services and a safe space for complex histories can support you in reaching your most authentic and well self.

Does this sound familiar? You start talking about something small, like weekend plans or a chore, and somehow it spirals into that same old fight. Before you know it, you're both frustrated, nobody feels heard, and you're wondering how you got here... again. That distance between you keeps growing, and despite loving each other, you can't seem to break the cycle. Whether you're a couple preparing for marriage, navigating midlife challenges, or entering retirement, or an individual seeking clarity during life transitions, you want to move beyond feeling stuck. You're looking for practical tools to create meaningful change.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
