Waitlist for new clients
Full/waitlist-only for weekly therapy. IADC and EMDR intensives still accepted. You're tired, emotionally and physically. I support new mothers who are up at 3 a.m. wondering why they feel so sad when they thought this was supposed to be the happiest time of their life. I work with people who are grieving and are so tired of being told to “move on” when all they really want is to still feel connected to the person they lost (and yes, we can find ways to do that together). I work with young adults who have lost a parent and feel like no one else understands, and the thought of a college commencement is depressing, not exciting.

Hi there! I see people through a systemic perspective. What that means is that no one operates in a vacuum. We’ve all come from a particular dynamic that has impacted and influenced who we are today. That in turn affects how we deal with and react to all aspects of our life including friendships, marriages, children and work and especially our relationship with ourselves! If you are struggling in any arena of your life I would love to help you get to a happier, healthier more fulfilling place. I love to work with couples, siblings, families and individuals. Please reach out for a free consultation.

Without clarity, it can feel hard to know how to move forward, especially if there’s a relentless inner critic at play, or if insecure attachment, codependency or self-sabotage are part of your story.
I help you nurture a deep connection to self, as well as a new relationship with thoughts, emotions and body sensations. You develop insight and skills to cultivate choice in how you respond, opening to more ease and freedom. With warmth and empathy, we explore relationships, self-love and attachment, often returning to the heart, which always knows the way.

If you find yourself feeling like the ground beneath your feet is about to crumble, you are not alone. I can offer a safe and nonjudgmental space where we can work together to find your balance. I believe that meaningful therapy should be based on a collaboration between client and therapist with the intention of helping one discover their most authentic self through exploration of inner resources and innate wisdom. My practice involves moving away from behavioral and interpersonal patterns that hinder self-compassion.

I enjoy working with adolescents and emerging adults looking to address anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and codependency/relational challenges.
I help people feel comfortable in their skin. We will discuss and work on accepting the messiness of the human condition. I focus on emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. I think it is important to take into consideration the outside world around us and address how racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia affect mental health.

I believe meaningful change begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. Together, we'll explore the patterns and experiences that no longer serve you and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others. My background as a musician, teaching artist, and arts administrator shapes the way I connect with others, grounding my work in warmth, creativity, and collaboration. Because healing can happen in many ways, I also offer Walk and Talk therapy for clients who prefer to reflect and process while moving outdoors.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
