Therapy is a brave choice—and you don’t have to face it alone. I work with adults who feel anxious, stuck, or weighed down by old patterns and relationship struggles. Using a warm, psychodynamic approach, we’ll explore the deeper ‘why’ behind your feelings so you can break free from cycles that no longer serve you. With advanced training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, I help clients heal from past wounds, strengthen relationships, and create lasting emotional change. Together, we’ll build insight, self-compassion, and the confidence to live more fully and authentically.

I have trained in Somatics, ACT, Polyvagal, IFS and Sex therapy.
We all have enormous potential for growth and self-actualization. As we move through life, many of us will encounter experiences which impair our sense of safety, our confidence, and our innate capacity to explore, connect to others, and to fully become our best, whole selves. My goal is to be present to help you find insight into problematic patterns of behavior, enhance the ability to take perspective, and take necessary steps toward your desired goals. I strive to create a safe holding space for my clients through respect, compassion, and understanding, where you can openly process and begin the journey to self-actualizing.

I utilize a person-centered, non-pathological approach to therapy. Internal Family Systems is my preferred modality as it views the struggles of humankind, as just that, struggles and not pathology. It also honors the healer inside of each of us, believing that each person not only has the capacity to heal but has a Self that is designed to do just that. In my approach, IFS is used as a road map and we journey together to the destinations you identify. You will do some hard, challenging, and courageous work but you will not do it alone; I will honor all your parts and hold a steady light for you as you journey through.

Choosing to enter therapy offers the possibilities of growth, change, and an increased active involvement in one’s life. My approach to therapy is to engage with patients beginning with the interests and concerns that prompt them to enter therapy. We can focus on issues that are immediately present, and also seek an understanding of underlying patterns of behaviors, beliefs, thoughts, and feelings.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
