Is your anxiety getting in the way of accomplishing your life goals? Do you have a complicated relationship with food & your body? Do you struggle with relationships or feel like you have limited support from people in general? Does life feel like one bad situation after another, almost like you can't catch a break? If any of this resonates, I would be glad to walk with you in your journey of leading a more authentic, fulfilling life. I believe that our early experiences really shape us, and at times (even unknowingly) make us feel stuck.

Life can get a little bit hectic and sometimes we lose ourselves in the mix. Losing ourselves can look like a loss of energy, not knowing what we enjoy or not, lack of boundaries, taking care of everyone around us but ourselves and avoiding others while also avoiding alone time with ourselves. Sound familiar? If yes, then let’s find YOU! Your authentic self sets boundaries, shows confidence, knows what you want and don’t want, and has some greater fulfillment with a life purpose. The authentic you is out there, so let’s start looking.

Are you struggling with finding healthy ways to cope? Life can be pretty stressful and overwhelming for a variety of reasons. Relationships, family issues, parenting, work, school, daily functioning, responsibilities, social struggles can all become difficult to cope with. I believe it is important to collaborate with the client to find out what they would like to gain from attending therapy so that goals can be attained while facing these challenges.

Imagine feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck in the same patterns, no matter how hard you try to change. You might be struggling with anxiety, a sense of sadness, or low motivation. Perhaps you're navigating big changes in your life, dealing with conflict at home or school, or simply feeling lost in your relationships. You’re looking for support and guidance to help you make sense of these emotions and to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

I strive to create a safe and comfortable space for women to explore their thoughts, modify negative patterns and behaviors and to assist them in making lasting changes.
Most of my clients are mothers who are carrying the invisible mental load for their families. If you're feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, disconnected or anxious we can work together on reducing these feelings. I am an empathetic listener who uses cognitive behavioral techniques and motivational interviewing to work collaboratively with my clients to achieve their goals.

Excessive stress, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, and even depressive thoughts can manifest during all different time periods in our life. Many of the work with my clients surrounds around life transitions, illness, chronic illness, loss, work related stress and relationship issues/ break ups and body dysmorphia. While times like these can get tough and may even feel unbearable, it is important for you to know that these feelings/ situations are completely normal and you do not have to cope with these feelings and situations on your own.

Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, or self-esteem related issues? Is this affecting your ability to cope with life stressors such as work, school, or relationships? Navigating these emotions alone can often be frustrating, confusing, or frightening. Exploring new coping skills can assist in mitigating the symptoms that may be standing in your way of your goals.

You deserve a life of happiness, abundance, and peace! Many people see therapy as that one-sided conversation laying on that stereotypical couch we see in movies. Therapy doesn't have to be a painful or intimidating thing! My goal is to help you be the version of you that YOU want. You are capable of achieving whatever solutions and life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process and experiencing yourself in new ways.

I believe that mental health is not a destination but a process in learning how to find comfort within the uncomfortable, to be at peace with what is, and to fall in to appreciation for the journey. I received my Master’s in Social Work from Stony Brook University then went on to get my license to become a Licensed Master Social Worker. I have clinical experience working in various settings. My expertise areas include working with individuals struggling with difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, identity and self-esteem, LGBTQIA+, relationship or family conflict, anger management and career or life-transitions.

Life can be both painful and challenging, but that does not mean that you have to go through it alone. Therapy is often a great place to start (or continue) when we are in need of some extra support.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
