In addition to work with adults,
, and families, I have a specialization in working with adolescents, including issues of depression, anxiety, underperformance in school, and the effects of learning disabilities on functioning and self-esteem.
My background and experience are quite varied, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, and neuropsychological perspectives. This allows me to approach each situation with a unique focus on the need of the individual or individuals involved, and to provide treatment tailored to those needs (rather than to narrow conceptualization on my part of what psychotherapy 'is'). I also frequently draw upon the practice of meditation in helping people cope with anxiety, depression, learning issues, impulsivity, addiction, and so on. My commitment is to helping people gain both self-understanding and the ability to make substantive changes in behavior.
