I offer in-person sessions Tuesdays and Thursdays where we have access to art materials.
Sometimes using words can only paint a portion of the picture to reflect our current situation. Often I find that using other forms of expression can truly help depict the magnitude of how one may be feeling. Art therapy can be an effective tool in the therapeutic journey to bridge the gap between what is felt and what is said in sessions. In my sessions I enjoy trying to help clients understand themselves better and empower them in ways that promote healing.

I believe in a client-centered approach, meeting my client where they are and working on the most challenging issues. I specialize in working with substance-related and addictive disorders. I am also experienced with gambling addictions, depressive, and/or anxiety disorders. For over 30 years, I have worked with substance-related disorders, helping clients move through the Stages of Change as they progress in their journeys. I take a non-judgmental approach. I don't believe that relapse is a failure, but it can be viewed as an opportunity to reinforce the consequences of one's addiction and to examine one's triggers.

Unlike the fantasies marketed to us through various platforms, the reality of life is far more complex and demanding. Most of us live through events that shape our nervous systems, distort our self-perception, and can interrupt access to who we are at our core. When old patterns begin repeating with anxiety rising, overwhelm taking over, or a sense of disconnection settling in, understanding why these cycles persist, or how to finally shift them, can feel out of reach.
