As a licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been practicing clinical counseling since 2016, I am dedicated to providing a safe space for you to begin the counseling process. I have spent 50 years in the treatment fields of alcoholism, drug addiction and mental illness. I have been in private practice since 1977 providing individual and couples therapy for adults. I have taught in six colleges and two medical schools and am the author of three books and the editor of another. I am a founding member of the non-profit Emergency Assist Team of Rockland County. I offer a compassionate and relatable approach, partnering with my clients to collaboratively problem solve and work towards solutions. I work with teens 16 and older and adults who are experiencing struggle in a variety of areas. Some may include but are not limited to: stress and anxiety, challenging life circumstances, family conflict, trauma, interruption in plans/goals, school issues and peer/relational problems. My professional experience is robust with early training in psychiatry and diagnostics which gives me a strong foundation to draw from.
