In practice I use a pragmatic, results-oriented approach and am not tethered to one particular psychoanalytic modality. Rather, recognizing each patient has unique needs, I draw from many therapeutic approaches that best fit each patient. In my practice, I can quickly assess which techniques will work best to meet each client's individual needs to show patients that they can have the right tools to reach their optimal comfort level in their careers, families, and relationships. The goal is bridging the gap and finding the most productive pathway between where clients are and where they want to be.

In psychotherapy, the ground of being is typically taken to be the self (or ego), and the work of psychotherapy entails mending the fractured self, so that the self is more unified, whole, and complete. This is what we commonly call self-acceptance--acceptance of all the parts of our self, especially the more vulnerable and hurting parts we instinctively reject and ignore. Paradoxically, our suffering decreases when we are able to engage in the difficult practice of allowing vulnerable and hurting parts in, practicing holding them, and possibly relaxing, before we take our next step. Traditional psychotherapy tends to reach its limits here.

Hello, my name is Sophie and I am interested in holistic health and maximizing our human potential for creativity, connection, and well-being. Life can be confusing, painful, and disorienting sometimes. I'm here to let you know that you don't have to go it alone! As a biracial individual, I embrace intersectionality and the multiplicative challenges and joys that come with a multicultural identity. I also take a feminist approach to my work, so that my clients feel empowered, validated, and valued. I am committed to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice, wherein we explore power dynamics within and outside of the therapy room.

My practice combines traditional psychotherapy and chakra-based techniques to reach specific goals, stimulate change and growth, and heal memories and experiences. This mind-body approach can be thought of as nature's mind-healing mechanism and all types of clients (not just holistically-oriented) take to it readily. It is effective with most issues - work and relationship difficulties, finding direction in life and most disorders especially addictions, anxiety, and depression. I focus on developing intuition, becoming grounded and productive, expressing creativity and personal power, and connecting to self and other.

Self transformation comes from understanding how our body and mind create our behavior and emotions and taking small risks to make shifts toward the fuller version of our selves. The modality I practice is Core Energetics which offers a unique opportunity to unwind childhood conditioning/trauma and re-learn who we are as adults. Mind/body techniques are on the cutting edge of neuroscience research and have a proven track record of success.

Transformation begins with healing through awareness and love. Our deepest nature is wise and beautiful, powerful and compassionate, One with our cosmic Source. We are precious in our imperfection. Trauma is healed with gentleness, empathy, and specialized, awareness-based methods. Through creative and experiential therapy, dreamwork, dialogue, sensitivity and humor, you can reclaim your self-esteem, talents, gentleness, strength, purpose and joy. As you heal yourself, you naturally enhance your abilities to attract, give and receive love, respect, understanding and support -- while maintaining your own center and healthy boundaries.

It's been a trying couple of years to say the least. Perhaps you're feeling burned out, uncertain about your next steps or you just need a place to bring your anxiety and frustrations about life. I believe that everyone has innate resilience and the ability to find solutions, no matter how bad things seem. Often it's when you finally ask for help that the greatest opportunity for growth and change occurs. I can help you move through those difficult places, whether it feels like depression, anxiety or feeling stuck. If you improve one area of your life, the rest will follow.

Accepting Teletherapy Appointments Only. This world is challenging and it is normal to have periods of struggle. I help clients move through stressful times and life challenges by developing healthier relationships and emotional patterns. I am a trained Internal family system (IFS) therapist and my therapeutic style is most aligned with the IFS model. As a therapist, I am both very supportive of my clients and I also provide feedback and opportunities for growth. I view therapy as both an art and a science. I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual client.

The mind never seems to get a rest. Thinking and worry consume far too much of our attention, creating the unsettling sense that our life is not being lived but is passing us by. Perhaps we have lost touch with our natural spontaneity and deeper sense of self. Or feel overwhelmed by the fast pace and difficult moods of our world. We may also feel trapped by our personal history or by the circumstances of our current life situation. As a result, we may be confused about our feelings, separated from our center, and unable to truly appreciate the incredible reality of our life.

I approach my work with a belief in the power of the human connection and the ability of people to nurture one another. Beginning with a relationship based on respect and empathy, my goal is to help people create a more balanced life, one that is both authentic and open to change. I view our process as collaborative and know that to communicate freely, people must feel safe, supported and connected. In this space, one is better able to express their needs, provide feedback and develop insight into their own experience.

My approach to therapy focuses on the relationship and creating a safe environment for exploration and growth. Whether you struggle with interpersonal conflicts, self esteem issues, or social anxiety, creating a peaceful place for a nurturing, supportive bond is my goal. My aim is not to change who or what you are, but rather explore how you respond and relate to your external world, and create a perception that better serves YOU in your daily living.

Whether you are struggling with a life transition, feeling overwhelmed, or finding yourself stuck in unproductive patterns, talking it out with a non-judgmental person can help. My clinical training has focused on many forms of human suffering, however I have particular experience in helping people work through anxiety, depression, and experiences commonly called "psychosis" (such as hearing voices, anomalous experiences, mania, suspiciousness, and extreme states). Additionally, I have extensive experience working therapeutically with people who are neurodivergent.

As your therapist, I will listen to you with care, interest, empathy, presence and compassion. I will support your emotional healing in a way that respects who you are. I will support your personal strengths, and help you engage them as fully as possible. I agree with Rogers, who believes that when a person experiences unconditional acceptance and empathic understanding from someone who is genuine and real, healing and growth occur. My style is generated from various humanistic psychotherapies with an interest in the mind/body/spirit interrelation, combined with a grounding in classical theories.
