I’m an experienced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for
Insomnia
provider.
I specialize in anxiety,
insomnia
and life purpose because they’re challenges I’ve personally overcome. I help people find the exit ramp out of anxiety. I understand how much the race for external validation has cost you. Living in repeating cycles of overwhelm, avoiding, then shaming yourself for it. You wonder if you have to live with the physical symptoms and
insomnia
forever. And the highest cost of all – you never got to know yourself. Paradoxically, your anxiety is actually a flashing signal to change. Work with me and discover the way back to you. And, if it feels like chronic
insomnia
has taken over your life, there’s hope.

We are a group of clinical psychologists offering cognitive-behavioral approaches to help clients realize their full potential. Cognitive behavioral therapy provides practical tools to help people overcome obstacles. We work with adults, children and adolescents stuck by emotions such as anxiety, sadness, fear or anger. Many of our clients also come to us with the burden of worrisome, disturbing thoughts. Others are managing behaviors like
insomnia
, procrastination, anger outbursts and addictive or repetitive behaviors. Attention disorders may also impede the success of children and adults. Many just have difficulty coping with the stress of daily life and the demands of a fast paced city.

“-I am a Resilience Lab therapist-” Hello and nice to "meet” you! I'm so glad you’ve stumbled upon my page. I know that oftentimes simply living can be a struggle, and I am here to help. My approach is not to tell you what to do or how to navigate your struggles, but instead to equip you with the tools you need to do this on your own, independently. More than anything else, I want you to walk away from our sessions feeling that you have developed awareness of how to make the healthy and right decisions for yourself and thus the power over your own life and happiness.

Anxiety on its own can be extremely challenging. To make matters more difficult, it often also comes with
sleep
difficulties or depression, which can make daily life an exhausting and frustrating experience. The good news is that they are all very treatable! With the correct approach, it is usually possible to make significant progress in a short period of time. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, as well as related difficulties (including panic attacks, OCD, eating disorders, generalized anxiety, phobias, PTSD, and others). Hello, I am currently accepting new clients in my 100% online, telehealth practice. Starting therapy for the first time or re-initiating therapy after a break can be daunting; but most things worth doing involve some risk. Many of my clients are quite successful, but are unsatisfied with certain aspects of their life such as self-confidence, mood, relationships, or
sleep
. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult period of your life, relief from anxiety, rest from your struggle with
insomnia
, regained security after a traumatic event, healing after a loss, or simply deeper self-knowledge: Therapy is a risk worth taking.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
