I am a men's therapist in New York specializing in relationship and emotional growth for men in their 30s and 40s. Many of the men I work with feel stuck or frustrated, often noticing the same relationship patters repeating, struggling to express what they feel, or feeling disconnected despite "doing everything right." Even when life looks stable on the outside, something internally feels off. Therapy with me is a space to slow things down and make sense of what's happening beneath the surface. Together, we look at emotional reactions, relational patters, and past experiences that continue to show up in the present. The goal isn't

Finding the right fit for a therapist is so important. You want someone you can trust, open up to about things you would never tell family or friends, and someone who can offer you some useful strategies and feedback. I am an interactive therapist. This means, I will not just sit there and have you talk for 50 minutes without any interactive feedback. Being an interactive therapist, we are having a conversation so there is give and take. I will ask you questions and perspective about what is going on for you that maybe you didn’t think about before. Collaboration is huge! I am not the expert on you. You are.

I FOCUS ON MEN"S COUNSELING. Are you a man who feels stuck between anger and numbness? or feeling depressed and don’t know how to deal with it? Do you wish something would change in your relationships, but you don't know what to do or worried it might end? Whether married or divorced, are the roles of a father not what you expected? Men tend to isolate themselves when what they need is someone to talk to. Even if there isn’t a major life event or crisis, if a man has not had a warm, positive, well-attuned relationship with a father, a male therapist can help you uncover what's missing since childhood.

Challenging the roles society has placed on us can be really difficult, but when we break through these barriers to create our own identities, life can feel so meaningful. My passion is working with individuals and couples, especially people of colour, men, and the LGBTQ community, to re-define themselves into who they truly want to be. By helping individuals be their truest selves in relationships, I also help couples create a more balanced partnership.

Like all therapists, I'm not for everyone. I don't fit the stereotypical image, walk to the beat of a different drum, maybe like yourself. I try to offer a balance of strength and compassion. I don't want to be solely soft and safe, nor exclusively forceful and aggressive. The art is in finding that balance and offering you that unique mix. You'll probably be divulging some pieces of yourself that are raw and weighty and maybe even a bit scary. This can be difficult, I know, I was a client before I was ever a therapist.

Choosing to begin counseling is a courageous and powerful step, and I commend you for taking it! Before entering the field of mental health, I spent over a decade working in finance, communications, and PR - that work gave me a deep appreciation for the challenges people face in high-pressure environments and sparked a passion for helping individuals reconnect with themselves and their potential. My goal as your therapist is to foster a warm, collaborative relationship where you feel heard and supported. No matter where you’re starting from, I’ll meet you there with compassion, curiosity, and a deep commitment to your progress.

You may be facing a distinct roadblock, a difficult or welcomed life transition, relationship struggles, a vague sense that something is wrong, or symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, complex trauma, or the profound stress of living in a society that other’s you due to who you are or how you identify. I am committed to working with you through these difficulties from a stance of respect, collaboration, and openness.

I believe that asking for help, and taking the first step with a new therapist is often the hardest part of the therapeutic process. I feel that there is not a one size fits all approach to therapy. We are all very different, we have varying life experiences and most of all we do not all process or feel things in the same way. I will help you identify your goals and objectives, and we will work towards them together. Life can become overwhelming at times and I will help you unload what can often feel like a huge the pile of dishes in the sink, but one plate at a time.

Are you feeling lost, anxious, or disconnected? You may be struggling with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, or intimacy concerns. Many people seek therapy when anxiety, irritability, or distress around sex or relationships begin to affect their emotional well-being. I am a warm, open-minded psychotherapist with extensive experience providing individual therapy and couples counseling. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and nonjudgmental, and I often use gentle humor to help clients feel comfortable discussing vulnerable topics.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I believe the key to therapeutic success is feeling comfortable with the person you are talking to, which allows you to trust the process, even when it's hard or under pressure. Our work is collaborative; we set goals together and revisit them as you grow. Each session is guided by curiosity, compassion, and a deep commitment to understanding your unique story, not just your symptoms.

I am a psychologist practicing near Columbus Circle. I work with a range of adults, including college and graduate students, working professionals, and individuals with chronic health issues. Many of the individuals I work with are seeking greater self-understanding; a more integrated sense of identity; or greater means of coping with traumatic events, loss, or difficult life stressors.

Welcome. If you’re here, I imagine you may be feeling stuck or uncertain about how to move forward in your life. I would like to help you take the next steps. In our work together, we will find ways for you to more meaningfully connect with yourself and with those who are important to you. This work may include facing something from your past, navigating a difficult life transition, gaining new awareness of repetitive cycles of behavior, or the opportunity to freely discover and playfully explore your own subjectivity and imagination.

Most of the men I work with don’t look like they’re struggling. You’re successful, capable, and used to handling things on your own. But underneath that, something isn’t working your relationships feel strained, you’re more shut down than you want to be, or anger and distance are costing you more than you’d like to admit. I specialize in helping high-performing men step out of the patterns that keep them disconnected from their partners, families, and themselves, while navigating anxiety, stress, sex/intimacy concerns, and the pressure to keep it together while still showing up fully in their lives. Therapy with me is not passive.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
