An effective mental health counselor is a social anthropologist at heart with a profound knowledge of ethnicity, sociology, race, religious and/or spiritual denominations, family dynamics and how economics influence and determine emotional conflicts. Fluent in French, Spanish and English, well-travelled and well-versed in the arts and literature of other countries and with a subtancial background in psychology and psychoanalysis I approach emotional issues with flexibility and relevance to the individual patient. I delve into the client's self and biographical life to mobilize hidden forces, unused energies to assist him/her in the struggle to prevail.

You're creating a life full of successes; you’re accomplished, capable, and others often rely on you. But there’s a part of you that carries stress, anxiety, or emotional heaviness that’s hard to name. Despite all you’ve achieved, something inside feels misaligned. You’re ready to feel more grounded in your body, trust yourself deeply, and release patterns that no longer serve you. This is about healing, clarity, and coming home to your true self.

I have extensive training in CBT, trauma and hypnotherapy approaches.
I believe that the work of therapy happens in a safe, non-judgmental setting which enables you to build a trusting relationship where you can share your deepest concerns, build resilience and develop insight which will enable you to develop more effective strategies and solutions in order to create and sustain a healthy more authentic and fulfilling life. If you find yourself repeating patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are not working for you or in relationships that don't work out and leave you wondering why, therapy can help. Sometimes, therapy is about focusing on a specific issue however often it is more encompassing.

Our clients share a profound bond with animals—one that brings deep love, meaning, and, at times, real heartbreak. You may be grieving the loss of a beloved companion, feeling the weight of caregiving, or struggling with burnout, compassion fatigue, or trauma connected to your work with animals. Many of our clients are pet guardians, veterinary professionals, or animal care workers who feel emotionally overwhelmed, depleted, or alone in their experience. They are looking for a space where that bond is truly understood, honored, and held with care.

Coaching, hypnotherapy, Biofeedback, EFT and EMDR is available.
Life can feel overwhelming, like you're constantly fighting an uphill battle. You might be struggling with work stress, a difficult relationship, or just a general feeling of being stuck. You're a man who's been taught to handle things on your own, to "man up." But that old approach isn't working anymore. You feel disconnected from your purpose and like you've lost control. You want to regain your sense of agency and live a more meaningful life, free from the burdens of anxiety and self-doubt. You're ready to move past the struggle and build a future you're proud of. But how? My approach is practical, direct, and action-oriented.

Therapy can help you feel more content, improve relationships, and create choices that are more satisfying and realistic. I work with anxiety, panic, depression, grief, insomnia, stress, and self-esteem, as well as cultural adjustment and identity concerns. My approach blends psychoanalysis, CBT, mindfulness, hypnosis, coaching, and meaning-centered psychotherapy. Many of my patients are doing fairly well but want to feel even better—more confident, organized, and connected. I see people navigating transitions, work pressures, and relationships, and those “in between worlds” seeking belonging.

Hello and welcome to my psychotherapy practice. It is a safe supportive space to address the difficulties that you would like to resolve and gain strength from your increasing self-awareness. There is within all of us, great potential to access our inner resources and live a more rewarding and fulfilling life. Yet all too often emotional concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, fears, eating disorders, blockages that hold us back from action, and even old habits prevent us from being the person we would like to be.

In person appointments are required for hypnotherapy.
I enjoy variety and so have not limited my practice to any category nor do I confine myself to any school of thought. My work experience ranges from children to the elderly, from insight-oriented therapy to symptom removal and from short term to long term therapy. Similarly, I work with most kinds of problems from the psychological to the psychosomatic and even to the psychological aspects of medical illness.

HypnoTherapy
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy works by using guided hypnosis to help you reach a state of focus and concentration through mental imagery and soothing verbal repetition. The state is somewhat like being absorbed in a book, a movie, or your own thoughts. You are not under a therapist’s “control,” but they can help you relax and turn your attention inward to discover the resources to achieve behavior change or better manage psychological concerns. Therapy sessions may involve guiding you through recognizing a problem, releasing problematic thoughts about it, and considering and accepting more productive alternatives before returning to normal awareness. Hypnotherapy is typically used by a therapist along with traditional forms of talk therapy. Eventually, your therapist can help you learn hypnotherapy techniques yourself so you can establish a stronger sense of control on your own in stressful or challenging moments.

Is hypnotherapy the same as hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy, which is sometimes called hypnotic suggestion, is a therapeutic technique in which a therapist uses hypnosis to help patients. It is not the kind of hypnosis portrayed in stage shows, or in movies or on television. You will not be unconscious or asleep during hypnotherapy, you will not lose control of yourself, your thoughts, or your free will, and you will be able to fully recall your experience. And while you will hear your therapist’s suggestions, it is always up to you to decide whether to act on them. Hypnosis by a trained mental-health professional is not a form of mind control, which is impossible to achieve anyway.

Can everyone be hypnotized?
The most common challenge of hypnotherapy is that as many as one in four people cannot be hypnotized. Brain imaging has confirmed differences in patterns of brain connectivity between those who respond to hypnotism and those who do not. Other people who could potentially be hypnotized may not respond to the technique because of their skepticism or resistance to entering a hypnotic state. If a therapist’s “post-hypnotic suggestion” is effective, it’s because they are suggesting something you want to achieve.

Does hypnotherapy work?
Through hypnotherapy, you can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. Like other talk therapy techniques, when hypnotherapy succeeds, it’s a case of mind over matter. Effective hypnotherapy involves self-healing because you access resources you need to change inside of yourself and learn how to tap into them whenever you need. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective therapy for anxiety, phobias, stress, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual dysfunction, and undesirable behaviors like smoking. It can be used to help improve sleep or to address relationship challenges, and to aid with pain management, digestive disorders, skin conditions, and the gastrointestinal side effects of pregnancy or chemotherapy.
