I help people sort through parts of life that feel 'stuck' and work to identify skills to move forward. In particular, my work has focused on helping people improve their relationships with food, their bodies, and the culture that has dictated the most harmful elements of this relationship. I have training in both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral modalities, and my practice leans into values-driven Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I welcome clients from all identities, and make space to address the impact of explicit and internalized biases.

I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and difficulty relating to their whole self, often as a result of trauma. They desire relief in a safe and non-judgmental space. After nurturing wounded parts, learning behavioral techniques and coping skills that exist in their own bodies, my clients are able to effectively manage their symptoms. In the next phase of therapy, and when my client shows readiness, we will explore the root causes of their symptoms and how their various parts contribute. Through this process my clients will experience long term success in their mental health journey.

My focus as a therapist is helping you understand and embrace your own identity and your own values. There is powerful strength in being yourself, and we can discover that strength together. My expertise is particularly in working with body image and eating disorders, with people who have or wish to be evaluated for autism and/or ADHD, with people experiencing self-injury or suicidal ideation, and with people who have "treatment-resistant" or severe anxiety and depression. I partner with patients who want to understand themselves on a deep level, while simultaneously offering concrete skills and tools to alleviate current symptoms.

I specialize in working with adults who have learned to survive through achievement, perfectionism, or staying small; people who look like they’re doing fine on the outside, but feel anxious, disconnected, or exhausted inside. As a therapist and a former educator, my work is grounded in curiosity, clarity, and care. We don’t just talk about what’s hard; we work on it together in real time — building awareness, new habits, and emotional safety that lasts. My practice integrates AEDP and IFS with an Anti Oppression lens.

Life can start to feel like a constant balancing act—holding everything together while feeling anxious, stuck, or disconnected. Patterns repeat no matter how hard you try to change them, and emotions can feel bigger than you can manage. You want to feel grounded, understood, and in control again. To move past survival mode, trust yourself, and feel at ease in your own skin—knowing healing is possible and you do not have to do it alone.

You may find yourself stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, or low mood that leave you wanting real change. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and tailored to your specific goals, values, and life circumstances. Together we decide what approach fits you best, whether that includes Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, trauma-focused work, or cognitive behavioral strategies. Do you find that you can’t stop thinking about events from the past? Do nightmares make the idea of going to sleep stressful? Or maybe you don’t remember your dreams, but you wake up sweaty with a racing heart? Do your friends and family wonder why you’re shut off; don’t want to spend time with them; or do the things you used to enjoy? Maybe you find yourself getting angry a lot more than you used to. Or find yourself thinking that, “If only I’d done such and such, then things would have been different”, or “It’s my fault that something/blank happened”. Or you’re avoiding certain situations, and it’s harder to function effectively.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
