I am a Clinical Psychologist and a Life Coach. I combine the depth of psychology with the practicality of life coaching to meet your personal goals. I help people become more fulfilled and successful in their relationships and careers, reduce stress, improve self esteem and decrease anxiety and sadness. The people I work with are successful in certain areas of their lives, but need some expert guidance in other areas. Depending on your needs, our work together can be short-term or ongoing, and could incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Life Coaching techniques.

Healing and movement towards well-being can sometimes feel like a long difficult process. I’ve been fortunate to work with and support many individuals through this process and I’m always grateful to have been given the opportunity to join them on their journeys. Through developing skills to cope with current struggles and moving through past distressing or traumatic experiences that feel like they might be preventing you from moving towards your own path of wellbeing, we can collaborate to make movement forward toward your healing.

My philosophy is rooted in cultivating meaningful relationships, developing awareness and challenging assumptions. Specialties include relationships, stress, executive coaching, the creative process, empowerment and the LGBT community. I believe in working co-actively. As a psychotherapist and music therapist, I help people engage their creative minds to connect to the parts of themselves that may be harder to access with words alone. I work with people experiencing issues such as depression, grief and loss, relationship issues and substance abuse, gently and safely expanding awareness and understanding of their inner world to find lasting self-acceptance and self-care.

I have been in practice for over 25 years and find my work very rewarding. I believe that therapy can help people feel more confident about their place in the world--more confident that the balance of goodness within themselves will allow them to go forward with their lives. I feel respect and gratitude towards my patients; their readiness to explore their areas of vulnerability has helped me to understand similar vulnerabilities within myself. I have learned from many sources; in this sense my approach is eclectic. It is important to tailor frequency and duration of treatment for each patient.

Wouldn't it be great if your therapist didn't just listen to you, but helped YOU listen to yourself? You know, that Self that gets lost among all your responsibilities and commitments and social media and stress and all the things you tell yourself...all that stuff that makes you feel fragmented and overwhelmed. I love helping people discover themselves amidst the noise of life. Understanding yourself is the key to getting "unstuck" and moving towards success, healing, and growth.

Anxiety looks different for everyone. You may experience an unending spiral of anxious thoughts, you may find yourself fixating on a specific situation, you may lay awake at night replaying every situation from the past day. There is no true limit to what your anxiety may look like. Recognizing the impact that anxiety has on your every day life is healthy step toward regulating it.

There are many reasons why we seek therapy; and they differ in terms of how problems and circumstances influence our lives. I work with adults, teens, and couples seeking relief from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, poor self-assertion skills, identity issues, and life stressors (such as death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, career change). I also work with college students in NYC living away from family and support; young adults launching into adulthood in NYC; and helping couples find solutions to problems in an otherwise satisfying relationships. Out-of-network reimbursement options are available.

Cigna and Evernorth Therapists
Cigna and its healthcare division Evernorth provide behavioral health coverage though managed care plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Outside the U.S., Cigna provides insurance through Cigna Global Health Benefits.

Cigna and Evernorth HMO plans only cover services from in-network providers and require a referral from your primary care physician. EPO plans also utilize in-network providers but generally do not require a PCP referral. PPO plans offer the most flexibility and a larger network of providers, and may include some out of network benefits.

Occasionally Cigna or Evernorth Therapists in New York will only accept a limited number of in-network insurance patients in their practice, so it's important to check if your plan is accepted when you book a consultation.

Based in Connecticut, Cigna insures 180 million people in more than 30 countries around the world. Cigna rebraded its health services division as Evernorth in September 2021.

Here’s a link to more information on how insurance works to cover behavioral health benefits.
