Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, natural, and empowering space—one where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges, joys, transitions, and complexities. Whether you're an individual, couple, parent, or family, I strive to create a relationship rooted in trust, authenticity, and collaboration—because I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the strongest indicators of meaningful growth and healing. I bring warmth, curiosity, and clinical rigor to the work, always centering your voice and your vision for your life.

I'm a mother of two amazing kids and the fourth generation on our family farm.
Therapy is what you need it to be, when you need it to be. It's for everyone at every stage of life, offering a space to express your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment and navigate challenges with support and confidence. In therapy, you can strategize your next move and even practice before trying it in real life. I enjoy working with clients navigating grief, loss, anxiety, depression, stress management, PTSD, and life's ever-changing topography. Using a mindfulness-based, person-centered approach, I help my clients feel secure as they move into a space of healing and growth.

I work with adults and children.
Before I came to New York, I was a lecturer in medical school and a neuroscientist. I was interested in the wonders of the brain from a scientist's point of view. My focus, over the last decade, has shifted from the brain to the mind. I think of psychoanalysis as a profound journey of understanding of oneself. Its purpose is to help people to understand feelings, behaviors, and habits that are troubling to them and to enrich their lives with new creativity, more fulfilling careers, and more meaningful relationships.

I have 20 years of experience working with adults and children, am a AASECT certified sex therapist, Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and certified in Trauma-Focused CBT & EMDR as well as a registered yoga instructor-200 level.
You’re my ideal client! I want to meet you wherever you are & journey with you to where you want to go. Ever pass people who look impossibly high-functioning/put together - makes you feel like you'll never get there? So many look in a mirror & wonder who’s staring back & how they became who they are now.  To understand you, we first have to understand the story you’ve created from the beginning.  Letting others into dark corners of your life, where hurt hides, can be scary & painful.  But, it’s in those moments where healing happens. My role, in your journey, is to stand beside you, in the darker places, & help you turn on a light

FAQ - About Child Therapy
When does a child need to see a therapist?
Children naturally experience emotional ups and downs. Sometimes, though, they need support from a professional. A child may benefit from therapy if their emotions or behaviors change significantly within a short period of time. For example, if a child usually spends time with friends after school but begins isolating in their room, further inquiry is warranted. Other areas for concern include altered sleep patterns, lack of appetite, intense anger, irritability, or hopelessness, or developmental regression in young children (bedwetting, thumb-sucking).

What can a child therapist help with?
A therapist can help with any difficult experience a child may encounter growing up, including learning problems or anxiety related to school, relationship challenges with friends or parents, bullying, intense emotions or phobias, divorce and family dynamics, or the death of a pet or loved one. A therapist can help children process their experience and develop coping skills in an age-appropriate way

What therapy types are most suitable for children?
Children can benefit from different forms of therapy, including family therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and exposure therapy, depending on their condition. Play therapy is a great option for younger children who may not be able to fully articulate their feelings. In this approach, kids play with toys and games while a therapist observes and helps the child express their emotions and develop coping skills.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
