My ideal client is someone who feels stuck—whether due to past trauma, overwhelming anxiety, depression, negative thought patterns, or a sense that something just isn’t right. They may struggle with self-esteem, emotional regulation, or relationships, and they’re ready to explore what’s holding them back. They want to feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their lives. What they need is a space where they feel safe, understood, and empowered to move forward. Through EMDR, CBT, and person-centered therapy, we work together to uncover the root of your pain, shift unhelpful beliefs, and create lasting emotional change.

From a young age, you may have learned to prioritize achievement, stability, and responsibility, often at the expense of your own emotional needs. You might feel a constant pressure to meet high expectations while carrying unspoken responsibilities for your family. At times, it can feel like you are living between two worlds, trying to honor traditions and values while also wanting the freedom to choose. Even when things look successful on the outside, you may still feel an underlying sense of stress, guilt, or emptiness that is hard to explain.

Life is full of challenges and you deserve a nonjudgmental space to examine your patterns, feelings, and relationships with curiosity and compassion. As a former student of religion, I believe that pain is a part of life, and that we can deal with pain by creating narrative and understanding.Let’s examine the stories you have about yourself, rewrite that story, and explore what wellness looks like for you.

I believe therapy is a collaborative and evolving process, it is a space where we meet with openness, curiosity, and care. It’s not just about helping you “feel better,” but about walking alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, navigate emotional challenges, and uncover your own strengths. I see each therapeutic relationship as a unique journey we take together. It’s an experience of mutual growth, one where your voice leads the way, and I support it with empathy, reflection, and gentle structure.

Couples in crisis,or quietly losing their way, have come to me for help in strengthening their relationships in a neutral, supportive atmosphere. I also have extensive experience with individuals (adult and children) and families. In crisis, short term or long term therapy, I am quite familiar with issues of depression, anxiety, work, or family stress. Many clients contact me regarding concerns about isolation, sexual identity, mood swings, and interpersonal relationships . Men, who often seek out therapy less readily than women, are well represented in my practice. People in the arts also occupy a large part of my work.

You may be coming to therapy because life feels heavy at times. Stress, anxiety, or unresolved conflict in your relationships can make it hard to feel grounded or at ease. Perhaps you have been trying to communicate with your partner but keep ending up in the same arguments, or you are longing for more connection, clarity, and understanding. I provide a supportive space for adults and couples to explore what matters most, feel heard without judgment, and begin to make sense of what has been challenging.

I help people-pleasers and highly self-critical individuals process childhood trauma so they can build self-compassion and relationships where they feel truly seen, not just accepted for taking care of others. Many of my clients often overthink, repress of their own anger, always taking care of others. They crave closeness but struggle to believe they can be loved without performing or caretaking. In our work, we slow down and reconnect with the parts of you that learned to hide pain and need. Together, we make space for long-suppressed feelings — grief, anger, tenderness —so they can transform into clarity and vitality.

As Black men a lot of us have been socialized in ways that makes maintaining deep relationships a challenge. Whether the cause is unresolved trauma, communication skills with room for improvement, socialization of our masculinity or anything else, allowing the issue to go unresolved creates tension where there could be harmony. A lot of us developed defenses for remaining safe in a world we feel isn’t safe for us. We also develop dynamics in our relationships where we may continue deploying defenses in safe spaces, preventing ourselves from receiving love and loving to our fullest capacity.

People most often contact me when a critical life event has occurred. They may be feeling anxious or depressed, or have become newly aware of a need to make changes in the way they handle their relationships, emotions, and self-esteem. For some, this is the beginning of a long journey of self-exploration. Others prefer to seek new, more effective tools to address the immediate situation. I think that a good clinician should be able to tailor the treatment to fit the needs and preferences of the client. Too often it is the other way around.
