We are none of us just one thing. I bring my experiences as a woman, a bilingual emigrant with a multicultural inheritance, a dancer, and a seasoned psychotherapist to my work with clients. My appreciation of multiple roles, allegiances, and identities held in harmony and in tension with one another enriches my understanding of the people who choose to work with me. I know how hard life in the city can be. I know too how transformative it can be, to be truly heard and understood in all one’s complexity.

When seeing a new patient I am always mindful of the value of listening and communication. I am always mindful of ways of interpreting deeper understanding, but it begins with the building of a relationship between the two people in the room. By allowing this to develop I am able to assist in finding resolutions to symptoms and patterns that are emotionally painful and stubbornly have not gone away. My ideal client is one who is at least curious about making a commitment to change. I will attempt to do my part. I do use video and teletherapy for new and established patients.

Trauma, chaotic relationships and negative experiences have their way of imprinting themselves on our psyche so that it feels like every day is a huge struggle. The therapeutic relationship allows for a safe space to engage unhelpful thoughts and feelings. Anxiety depression, and addictions are forms of self communication and unmet needs. Therapy is healing process that will enable you to meet your needs as well as develop adaptive, healthy coping strategies and skills.

I believe that therapy is about helping individuals better understand themselves, their values, and how they can live meaningful lives in the midst of life's challenges and hardships. The therapeutic relationship enables a safe place for individuals to explore difficult internal experiences and relationship patterns, and choose how to respond in ways that are consistent with their values. It is a privilege to hold space for others to gain insight into their own experience and choose the kind of person they want to be in the world.

I believe that each of us is endowed with a fundamental striving to grow. However, in life's journey we encounter both joy and sorrow. What is important is how we negotiate these experiences. If you are feeling undermined from negative attitudes or facing difficult challenges, help is available through a safe, in-depth psychoanalytic psychotherapy experience. We will explore the relational origins of harmful self-feelings and painful experiences to seek new pathways to enhance your sense of wellbeing. In psychotherapy, we will embark on an in-depth reflective adventure together to facilitate your growth to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Is this a time you may need some extra help managing what life has thrown at you? If so, you'll find me to be warm, empathic, and down-to-earth, with extensive training, skill, and experience. We'll collaborate and be flexible as we work to help you through a rough patch, or, identify and shift those habits that have outlived their usefulness and now create obstacles to living a more satisfying life. I work well with those seeking either or both problem-solving and insight-oriented approaches.
