Hi! I'm Tony Lopez, I specialize in Men's Issues and Christian Counseling. All my services are through online tele therapy. I maintain a balance between spirituality and mind. I use plain language, humor, and simple examples. Eclectic approach. My top niche is Christian Counseling: Christians, Pastors, ministry leaders, former ones. I am NOT a Pastor; as a therapist, I can use your spirituality to complement your growth. Expect a professional Psychotherapist who is well-versed in Christian values and can integrate this in a balanced way. - - - I DO have other therapists available- - -

With over 15 years’ experience as a bilingual Psychotherapist working with very diverse populations from adults to adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD I learned that not everyone feels comfortable going to speak to a therapist in a traditional setting like an office. This is why I offer “Walk Talk Therapy” and mobile therapy. I want to eliminate as many barriers as possible for you to get the help you need. Just as we are all encouraged to exercise for our physical health, I believe everyone should connect with a professional therapist to strengthen one’s emotional health.

One of the greatest gifts therapy has to offer is the empowerment and flexibility to move through and beyond your experiences. Together, therapy can be a space for reflection, discovery, skill building and greater understanding of self and the world around you. Exploring the pillars of a person's journey should be a holistic experience. As a practice, respecting one's personal, environmental, religious, spiritual and cultural beliefs can be a pathway to establish rich conversations while forming a relationship.

You’re my ideal client! I want to meet you wherever you are & journey with you to where you want to go. Ever pass people who look impossibly high-functioning/put together - makes you feel like you'll never get there? So many look in a mirror & wonder who’s staring back & how they became who they are now.  To understand you, we first have to understand the story you’ve created from the beginning.  Letting others into dark corners of your life, where hurt hides, can be scary & painful.  But, it’s in those moments where healing happens. My role, in your journey, is to stand beside you, in the darker places, & help you turn on a light

LET ME HELP YOU HEAL AND GROW. As we move through life, events and circumstances may occasionally disrupt our forward movement. These blocks often show up as anxiety, depression, conflict, or an escape into addictions (both minor and major). However, I firmly believe that within everyone is an innate pull towards health and wholeness. Think about it. The fact that you’re reading this is evidence that you are ready to grow and transform, right? In therapy, you'll reconnect and align with this inner movement toward health and growth.

When facing life's difficult challenges, it is good to know that there are places that you can turn to for help and guidance. However, finding a gay therapist can be anxiety producing because when people decide they would benefit from seeing a therapist, they are often experiencing significant upset in their lives. This is usually not the ideal moment to be dealing with the stress involved in finding someone with whom it feels safe and right to be vulnerable.

I am a psychologist practicing near Columbus Circle. I work with a range of adults, including college and graduate students, working professionals, and individuals with chronic health issues. At heart, psychotherapy is a statement: "I am worth it." When you commit to psychotherapy with me you are saying: "My concerns are worth focusing on. It is worth it to build better relationships. It is worth it to confront the issues that keep me from living the life I want and am ready for."

Men's Issues Therapists

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?

Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?

Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?

One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
