Are you struggling with your relationships? Are you facing communication challenges, power struggle and conflict? Are you facing infidelity or trust issue and wonder how to you can overcome the betrayal ? Are you hurt, angry, confused, or frustrated... but yet willing to work it out and save your marriage? Couples therapy is probably the hardest type of therapy to be in and to practice; and I have been on both sides. In my work as a therapist, I see despair, loneliness, anger, contempt, aggression, unhealthy patterns and lack of intimacy. Unfortunately, so many couples come to me way beyond their due date.

Sex ruts, low desire, mismatched libidos, sexual incompatibility, early ejaculation, erectile unpredictability, orgasm issues, porn problems, out of control sexual behaviors, sexual trauma, sex after infidelity , negotiating non-monogamy, positive communication, behavioral change and cultivating a healthy relationship that lends itself to a healthy sex life.
When it comes to sex and relationship problems, many of us lead lives of quiet desperation. Sometimes you can be lying in bed next to someone and feel a million miles apart. I am a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in couple therapy and sex therapy. I am the New York Times best-selling author of "She Comes First," and I regularly contribute to major publications such as The Atlantic, The Economist and CNN Health amongst others. Talking about sex and relationships is hard, but self-silencing is even harder. My approach is solutions-oriented, with an emphasis on honest communication, and I give homework in between sessions.

Couples in their 20s an 30s often struggle with disconnectedness, infidelity , communication, and understanding their own needs.
I support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and big life transitions. I specialize in working with people in their 20s and 30s who are trying to figure out who they want to be in the world. This time can bring big decisions regarding career, relationship, and family. Often called a quarter-life crisis, it is often hard for us to maintain that strength amid uncertainty, self-doubt, and fear. I help clients experiencing a quarter-life crisis to explore problem areas and harness their inner strength and resilience.

My most rewarding work has been with couples handling infidelity or considering separation.
Your problems can do more than simply cause suffering. If you can understand them better, you can make use of them. Good therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can transform personal difficulty from something to survive into something truly beneficial. Toward this end, I find direct feedback, humor, empathy, and true collaboration to be indispensable tools.

I have had meaningful success working with individuals dealing with depression and anxiety and other existential difficulties, and with couples, married or otherwise, particularly with communication (or lack thereof) and post- infidelity .
Psychotherapy is, most honestly, a very remarkable and often surprising kind of 'conversation.' The distinction being that when we have a 'conversation,' we only know where it will begin, but not where it will end. The 'getting there,' the movement toward 'the end,' is often a thought-provoking, pleasurable, funny, sad, profound experience that changes people in wholly positive ways. When therapist and patient develop a good working relationship, transformative things can happen. My work centers around creating a serious, useful, and private space to begin exploring the depths of what causes you to suffer, or feel misunderstood.

My mission is two-fold: helping you cultivate a healthy relationship with yourself, and a healthy relationship with others. Do you criticize, doubt and judge yourself a lot? In your relationship, do you feel like walking on eggshells because you are afraid of saying anything to your partner that will spark yet another fight? Do you feel disconnected and your needs are not met? Imagine being at peace with yourself and feeling heard, connected, loved, appreciated, and respected with your loved ones. I can help you master the tools to create your authentic self and the relationship you desire. I also help couples heal from infidelity .

I support families, couples, and individuals experiencing issues around life transitions, losses, and grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, relational issues, parenting, the process of deciding and becoming parents, infidelity , intercultural dynamics, integrating cultural and transnational experiences.
As a relational therapist, I am deeply passionate to support individuals, families, and couples as they navigate life transitions and different experiences that impact connection with oneself and/or with one another. I strongly believe in the power of resilience (capacity to recover from any impact) and finding growth in the midst of challenges. I also believe, that sometimes finding the openings for growth are not so visible or accessible to our perception and therapy can support expanding that vision.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
