I help people develop an authentic, integrated, and joyful sense of self. I specialize in trauma recovery, identity issues, gender & sexuality, and spirituality. I have worked extensively with survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, and know that people with these experiences can heal and grow, creating healthy meaningful lives that feel good. As a bicultural person of color, I am also well-versed in helping people navigate the complexities (and richness) of identity, culture, family , race, and belonging. In all my work, my goal is to help people feel grounded, self-accepting and free.

Clients come to me when they have reached a crossroads in their life. Life may have suddenly become challenging because of conflicts in employment, family relationships, or dating/romantic relationships in a way that is overwhelming and difficult to understand. Sometimes we come to a place in our lives where we desire better for ourselves. However, we recognize the way we have been operating is no longer working. We need to process our past and present experiences to get to a place of personal freedom. *~~~Please email for inquiries. Phone calls are difficult to track. Thank you~~~*

My approach to therapy is informed by a Jungian and relational perspective. The aim of this work is to help a person deepen their understanding of themselves and their interactions with others, alleviate suffering and encourage curiosity about themselves and those around them. Jungian therapy fosters the capacity for self-expression and creativity and promotes a symbolic, image-driven understanding of symptoms such as anxiety, depression, marital, family and relationship problems, as well as questions about sexual/gender identity, body image and somatic experience.

I support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and big life transitions. I specialize in working with people in their 20s and 30s who are trying to figure out who they want to be in the world. This time can bring big decisions regarding career, relationship, and family . Often called a quarter-life crisis, it is often hard for us to maintain that strength amid uncertainty, self-doubt, and fear. I help clients experiencing a quarter-life crisis to explore problem areas and harness their inner strength and resilience.

I am a graduate of advanced training programs in both psychodynamic and couple/ family treatment, and also have learned to integrate cognitive and experiential components into my practice.
People most often contact me when a critical life event has occurred. They may be feeling anxious or depressed, or have become newly aware of a need to make changes in the way they handle their relationships, emotions, and self-esteem. For some, this is the beginning of a long journey of self-exploration. Others prefer to seek new, more effective tools to address the immediate situation. I think that a good clinician should be able to tailor the treatment to fit the needs and preferences of the client. Too often it is the other way around.

I have worked with young adults and adults of various backgrounds and sociocultural identifications seeking therapy for trauma/PTSD, depression, relationship issues, family conflict/pathology, anxiety, issues around self and social identities, and personality concerns/disorders.
I believe people benefit most when psychotherapy offers a space that invites curiosity, empathy, and introspection. To alleviate emotional pain, sometimes we have to look inwards at our ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. I strive to facilitate this process in the context of a supportive therapeutic relationship where those with whom I’m working feel safe, emotionally connected, and empowered. I practice non-judgmentally and with thoughtful attention to the intricacies of your primary concerns. In doing so, I can help you resolve debilitating symptoms and impart greater meaning to your experiences and relationships.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
