I help young adults struggling with anxiety, ADHD , life transitions, perfectionism, and relationship issues to cope with emotional stressors, gain insight, improve self-confidence, and create small yet meaningful mindset shifts so they can move through life with greater ease and enjoyment.
Finding “the right match” often creates additional stress when deciding to start therapy, and for good reason: we want to feel connected to the person we’ll speak to on a weekly basis. We want to feel seen and understood, especially in our most vulnerable state. As a New York-based psychotherapist and art therapist, I enjoy the process of getting to know my clients and recognize that a solid relationship is essential for personal growth in therapy. I bring empathy, warmth, and a healthy dose of humor to the therapy space to connect with my clients and foster an environment that feels safe, authentic, and supportive.

I have helped clients diagnosed with ADHD , depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, and more.
So often in today's world we can feel like we are being pushed along rather than being the captains of our ship. Oftentimes we search to be seen and loved, but find ourselves in other roles we never imagined encompassing. So how do we take back our selves and identities, how do we learn to love ourselves more, create more community, be authentically us? If these struggles resonate with you, therapy is a great place to start, and I would be grateful to join you on that journey.

Does your child have frequent tantrums? Is he willful and defiant, refusing to listen? Maybe she has problems in school and you suspect ADHD . The great news is, I have seen tremendous improvement in these issues with just 3-5 months of Child-Centered Play Therapy together with Parenting Counseling! Play Therapy puts your child in the driver's seat, giving him such an exhilarating sense of control over his own life, that he doesn't mind being told what to do so much outside of the session. In addition it allows him to process all of his overwhelming feelings.

I work with a wide variety of clients who may experience anxiety, stress, depression or emotional dysregulation resulting from trauma, grief and loss, ADHD , workplace challenges, life and career transitions, and the search for identity and life purpose.
My work, past and present, enables me to relate to client's struggles through the lens of real-world experience. During my 25 year career supporting others through workplace and life challenges as a leadership and executive coach in organizational and leadership development roles for corporations and nonprofits, I found my own calling as a psychotherapist in how “what we do,” intersects with “who we are.” My approach is eclectic, intuitive, compassionate and practical, tailored to each client’s unique needs, and drawing from various therapeutic modalities, including trauma-informed, psychodynamic and strengths-based perspectives.

My passion is working with neurodiversities such as ADHD , Autism, and Dyslexia, especially how they present in females.
Have you ever felt like everyone was given a manual for life except you? Or that you are walking to a different rhythm than most people? Do you ever mask who you really are to fit in? Society often tells us we need to fit a certain mold to be healthy. Self-help culture can try to make us strive for states of being that go against how the brain naturally functions. This can cause many of us to feel inadequate or "broken", when often we are just being human. I work from a Neurodiversity framework, which is the belief that there is no “correct” way of experiencing and interacting with the world, and that differences are not “deficits".

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
