I am passionate about helping clients who experience depression, anxiety and trauma. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed with feelings of sadness, loneliness, disconnection from loved ones, frustration, or a lack of motivation. I help these clients by providing them with a warm, nonjudgmental space to talk about their feelings. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic, meaning that I help clients make connections between what happens in their lives and their innermost beliefs, desires, and wants. My clinical areas include: anxiety , self-esteem, codependency & attachment issues, parenting /family issues, life transitions, and international family relocations.
Let’s find out why you may be repeating old behavioral patterns, help you resolve challenges, and find new ways of doing things. Working through obstacles together, we will work in a psychodynamic and interpersonal framework. I am a great listener and deeply care about our work, you, and the process. Through a relationship that feels collaborative, in a safe and healthy holding environment we will explore what you are experiencing and work towards achieving your goals. I have additional training in holistic nutrition, yoga and meditation, which brings an understanding of the Mind Body connection to the therapeutic process.

I work to provide a safe space for individuals facing relationship difficulties, eating disorders, anxiety , depression, and trauma by engaging in an authentic therapeutic relationship that fosters self-discovery and growth.
Through life’s journeys, we often find ourselves recreating patterns to cope with the overwhelming curve balls thrown our way. These patterns can keep us stuck by preventing us from achieving our goals as well as fostering meaningful relationships. By using a relational and client-centered approach, we will work together to unravel through the stuck points, make the hard stuff easier to sit with, and develop the essential tools you need in order to gain a sense of control and balance in your life.

I work with adults struggling with anxiety , depression, relationship issues, work-related problems, and many other issues.
Psychotherapy is a gift you can give yourself. If you're feeling down or you can never fully relax; it might be hard to imagine you could feel better. Maybe you keep repeating unsatisfying relationship patterns even though you want something else. These challenges, as well as many others, can interfere with the joyful, satisfying life you want. Psychotherapy can help you understand parts of yourself you don't fully know. Ultimately, this enables you to experience greater freedom and to explore new possibilities. Psychotherapy involves emotional, intellectual, and bodily experience and can therefore be deeply transformational.

I have completed specialized coursework in CBT for Anxiety and CBT for Chronic Pain at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and attended the IOCDF Annual OCD Conference for multiple years.
We can never prepare for everything that life will throw at us. However, we can learn strategies to better help us change what is within our control and cope with what isn’t. Being vulnerable is scary – whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you’ve been before. I want to ensure that you feel comfortable, and I strive to provide an empathic, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where we can comfortably explore what you are wrestling with and your goals. I believe that a positive client-therapist relationship built on mutual respect and honesty is essential for effective intervention and meaningful growth.

My specialties include anxiety , depression, relationship issues, dating and loneliness stages, family conflicts, complex trauma and PTSD.
For over 20 years, I have worked with individuals and couples who are experiencing emotional challenges within themselves, their circumstances, or in their relationships past or present, personal or professional and those with past trauma. When we don't know what the next step is to move us past these challenges, we can get stuck and from this experience, symptoms of anxiety , depression or both can arise. These symptoms can take us on a downward spiral in our mental-emotional health. It's time then for an experienced professional and attuned listener to assist you back towards the upward spiral of health and well being.

Whether you’re looking to improve your relationship with food, heal from a negative experience, or manage anxiety , I want you to feel seen and validated during our time together so you can fully show up as yourself.
I mostly work with young adults experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image issues. They might use food as a means of maintaining control or experience feelings of guilt, shame, and anxiety around their bodies. In our work together, we’ll confront the thoughts and beliefs that contribute to harmful patterns so you can build a new relationship with food that nourishes your mind, body, and soul. I also work with people who have anxiety , depression, relational issues, and trauma histories. Together, we’ll uncover the root of these issues and identify coping skills for moving forward.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
