I work with many people who battle with self-esteem, depression, anxiety,
relationship
/intimacy issues, and trauma.
My passion is to help clients make life changes that bring confidence, fulfillment and authenticity. As a Core Energetics Practitioner, with over fifteen years of experience, I help clients reengage their flow, purpose and direction. We can easily lose our sense of direction when struggles take over, whether those struggles are personal, relational or financial. We can find ourselves stuck in survival mode, depressed and anxious. Thoughts and movements become blocked and disconnected; we no longer feel in the flow of life.

Things are not going the way you want. Maybe you're having the same struggles you've had before. You're stressed, anxious, unhappy. You have many responsibilities, you're frustrated, under so much pressure. But, at the end of the day, you don't have the
relationship
or life you want. It seems easier for other people. You may be feeling alone or lonely. It eats away at your confidence. In private you might question your self-worth, think you're not good enough. Maybe others think you have it all together, or they rely on you. It is especially confusing if you are successful in other areas. You are used to fixing things on your own.

satisfaction.
Therapy, I believe, is a collaborative process through which I work with clients to progress toward well-being and an authentic engagement with life. As we address therapy goals that may involve reducing distress caused by symptoms, dealing with acute or longer term issues, or old patterns that are holding you back from growth, I listen for your voice, and seek to empower you to take ownership of your life and its direction. I strive to create a safe, accepting environment, where we work toward ameliorating distress, enhanced self-understanding, healthier choices, and living a more mindful, valued life.

Haley specializes in working with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression,
relationship
issues, work stressors, life adjustments, and chronic illness.
Everyone wants to feel a sense of security and peace. People tend to develop rigid, inflexible thinking patterns that may feel safe, but limit their ability to remain present. In many of people’s struggles, they end up adding to their own pain. Haley's work aims to build awareness so that people can learn to invite difficult feelings into the space and create flexible thinking patterns, making it possible for healing and growth. Haley empowers her clients by guiding them to practice and implement realistic, everyday skills with a focus on mindfulness that aid in maintaining self-acceptance and confidence.

Too often we can feel our lives slipping away. We can get stuck in patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior; our relationships feel “off” or nonexistent; work or school feel empty; and we can start to feel trapped in lives we don’t want. But therapy can help. Whether you are coming in for your first time or if you’ve been in therapy before; whether you want to change old habits and build new skills or to resolve past experiences; whether your
relationship
is struggling or you are struggling to develop relationships, therapy can help to get you where you want to be and lead to lasting change.

For over a decade I've worked with the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, adults and young adults dealing with depression, anxiety, HIV, trauma,
relationship
issues, and grief.
"Why should I go to therapy?" I remember asking myself that same question many years ago. Deciding to go to therapy isn’t easy. It usually means that life has been challenging and that you aren't coping well. Sometimes the cause is obvious—you’ve lost someone; you’re anxious or depressed; you’re dealing with change. At other times, things are less clear. You sense that something is off, but can’t exactly point to what it is. That’s where therapy can make a significant difference. Your time in therapy is likely the only time you'll have complete freedom to say what’s running through your head—good or bad—without being judged.

In my practice I see individuals,
couples
and groups-covering a range of human issues, including: anxiety, stress, grief and loss, trauma, addictions, interpersonal difficulties, depression, career transitions and issues with creativity.
Sometimes at different times in our lives, we may be faced with challenges that momentarily derail us. That is normal. Whether it's because we're unhappy with ourselves, we've suffered a great loss or just because unfortunate things have happened, I believe therapy can help by allowing another person to bear witness to those issues in a safe non-judgmental environment and open the door to becoming a happier, healthier self. I am a licensed psychotherapist and psychoanalyst who can help you understand the issues that are troubling you or standing in your way of more fully experiencing life.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
