Whether you’re wanting to heal from trauma, navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD or integrating a psychedelic experience, therapy is a space to rediscover your inner steadiness and sense of possibility.

My training and life experiences have taught me to see people as far more whole and capable than they often feel in difficult moments of life. Many people go through experiences that leave them emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck in limiting beliefs, or simply not living the meaningful and fulfilling life they truly want.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in seeing the full person, not just symptoms or diagnoses. Together, we work to better understand what may be getting in the way and create a path forward that feels authentic and sustainable.

When children and teens are in crisis, so are their families? Is homework time stressful? Is your child unhappy? Does he/she not have friends? Is the teacher complaining that he/she is not paying attention to the lessons? Are you concerned your child's grades need to improve in order for he/she to be promoted to the next grade level? I help children learn ways to calm themselves so they can better pay attention. Through playing games which may involve math or reading, they begin to feel a sense of success and find learning can be fun.

Within each one of us is an inner child that holds the many hurts of our life. To survive this world, we hide the child away, building strong brick walls, preventing the child from emerging. Sometimes we use our “busyness” to ignore the cries of the child behind the barricades. Or we turn to anger, addiction and numbness to drown out the deafening cries. In our moments of brokenness, we stop and wonder, “Is this how I will have to live the rest of my life?” Trauma touches us all in different ways. The role of a therapist is to guide you through the pain and hurt so you can live a life of intention, meaning and inner peace.

I am a New York–based therapist working with performers and high-achieving individuals navigating the pressures of performance, burnout, and perfectionism. Much of my work is with high level performers and others in competitive, visibility-driven environments. While these individuals are often outwardly successful, they may privately experience anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion related to sustaining performance over time. I support clients in understanding the internal experience of pressure—how it builds, how it impacts identity and performance, and how to work with it in a way that supports both wellbeing and longevity

The way in which people navigate the world is through experience. Many of us have had difficult experiences at different times in our lives which have contributed to the way in which we view the world and more importantly, ourselves. As such, most people carry negative views or beliefs about themselves that are simply not true. Until those beliefs are challenged in an effort to change them, we more often than not, experience emotional or psychological discomfort in many forms. Therapy is a space that serves to remind each individual of their ability to positively impact their lives by cultivating a more accepting view of themselves.

Sadness and fear live inside us all. At times, we are so used to feeling depressed and anxious that it seems as though there is no point to try and work through these struggles. In our therapy practice, we provide you with clinicians who are both skilled at their work as therapists and empathic and warm human beings. We value creating an accepting and safe environment whereby you feel comfortable expressing your struggles and fears.

There often comes a moment when something shifts. The exhaustion of trying to hold everything together becomes too heavy. The patterns you’ve worked so hard to explain away no longer make sense. From the outside, it looks like you have everything together, but internally, you feel exhausted, disconnected, or stuck. Deep down, you know you cannot continue in your current situation, but figuring out what comes next can feel overwhelming. If you’re at that point, therapy can offer more than support. It can provide the clarity, structure, and guidance needed to help you move forward with confidence.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.
Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.
How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.
Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
