You deserve a positive, joyful and meaningful life. But life's complications sometimes interfere with such aspirations. And we find ourselves anxious, depressed, moody, questioning our belief in ourselves and our ability to cope. Psychotherapy can be an important option to improve our well being. Whether its a minor and temporary struggle or more significant, we all deserve to be the best version of ourselves. You deserve a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, valuing, professional and comfortable. The process should feel safe, validating, positive and hopeful.

Life is stressful enough and can be even more challenging when you don't have the right person to talk with. It is often hard to gain clarity and find the right direction for yourself when anxiety, depression, and indecisiveness cloud your view. I believe that counseling is a collaborative journey built on trust, communication, and empowerment to help you find peace, wellness, and fulfillment.

When children and teens are in crisis, so are their families? Is homework time stressful? Is your child unhappy? Does he/she not have friends? Is the teacher complaining that he/she is not paying attention to the lessons? Are you concerned your child's grades need to improve in order for he/she to be promoted to the next grade level? I help children learn ways to calm themselves so they can better pay attention. Through playing games which may involve math or reading, they begin to feel a sense of success and find learning can be fun.

Welcome! I believe that counseling is an exploration of our personal lives, and can lead to a discovery of the best versions of ourselves. A therapist should be there as an empathic person who can assist you in understanding why you are currently "stuck" and help you explore your options for a more satisfying life.

My training and life experiences have taught me to see people as far more whole and capable than they often feel in difficult moments of life. Many people go through experiences that leave them emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck in limiting beliefs, or simply not living the meaningful and fulfilling life they truly want. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in seeing the full person, not just symptoms or diagnoses. Together, we work to better understand what may be getting in the way and create a path forward that feels authentic and sustainable.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
