At some point, you have to stop avoiding it and take a real look in the mirror.
What you keep pushing down doesn’t go away it builds.
It’s easy to stay busy, stay distracted, and keep things moving on the surface. But internally, the pressure, stress, and patterns don’t resolve on their own. I work with professionals who are ready to stop sweeping things under the rug and start doing the internal work. This means looking honestly at patterns, at stress, at emotions, and at the ways you’ve learned to cope whether that’s through overworking, shutting down, or substance use and other behaviors. Are you ready to take back control?

Using the science-based technique (CBT) cognitive behavior therapy, I will help you explore thoughts about people, places, and things in your life. We can either learn to be happier in the lives we have, or gain the strength and motivation to change it into the life we want.
Therapy is best when it is a conversation between two genuine people. I like the analogy of the therapist as a seasoned woodsman, who meets you, lost in your personal forest. As you walk and talk, the woodsman subtly uses known cues about how to get out of the woods.

Many children grow up adapting to hurt they never chose—learning to stay quiet, be strong, and care for everyone else. In those moments, we often give up our own needs just to stay connected, even as we secretly wish someone would care for us. Those early experiences shape how we love, how we trust, and how safe we feel in our own lives.
I work with individuals and couples to explore old wounds and the patterns you learned to survive by, so you can feel supported as you create new ways of "being" and "relating".

If you're struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), or if your child is struggling with OCD (including OCD due to PANS/PANDAS), I can help. Your efforts to manage your or your child's OCD, while creative and sincere, seem to be less effective over time, and more and more of your time is taken up trying to manage your fears and anxieties with less and less relief. Over time it may be cutting you or your child off from friends, making it harder to work or complete your education, harder to freely go where you want, and it feels like your life is getting smaller as your OCD symptoms get worse.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
