I offer in office, telehealth and walk & talk/hike sessions.
I am a LCSW-R who works with individuals, couples and families to promote more peaceful and fulfilling relationships. I work primarily from a family systems perspective which looks at how family relationships inform the way we view ourselves and relate to others. Reconnecting with each other and learning to communicate more effectively is an integral part of therapy. I am especially passionate about working with couples, utilizing my training in RLT (see relationallife.com for further info), which effectively resolves issues and helps couples rebuild their relationships to be more connected, loving and joy filled.

Sometimes "the problem identified is not the actual problem". As a therapist with over 15 years experience, I seek to walk along side you in this process/journey towards a deeper sense of self awareness and healing. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or trapped in cycles of overthinking. It may be life transitions, motherhood, or identity shifts. It may be deep loss. You long to feel grounded again. You want emotional safety and well being as well as tools that will actually help. You want to understand why you feel the way you do-and how to move forward without pressure or judgement.

Life happens! And when it does, we can feel an endless range of emotions. You might experience anxiety, depression, sadness, anger, happiness and the list goes on. While all of these feelings are normal and healthy, it can be overwhelming to experience them. That’s where I come in!

I whole-heartedly believe in the concept of “Feel then Heal.” Together, we can explore what is going on that is preventing you from living the life you want to live and cultivate solutions that realistically fit your life. I take a strength-based approach to counseling and believe you already possess the answers you need to become the best version of yourself, and that it is simply my job to help you find them. We can explore the thought patterns that may be preventing you from being able to move towards your goals and actively begin thinking about situations in a more positive way.

I offer in person and on-line video therapy.
You look like you have it together—but inside, a constant pressure or inner voice keeps you stuck in control, self-criticism, or disconnection. This may show up as perfectionism, struggles with food, or staying in one-sided relationships. Many of my clients developed these patterns growing up in difficult family environments (alcoholism, mental illness, abandonment). They once helped you cope, but now keep you stuck. Together, we’ll help you step out of these harsh patterns, understand what’s driving them, and feel more grounded, connected, and at ease in your life.

I am the owner of a group practice. We are accepting new clients. I have limited spots. There are times in life when everyone needs a little help. You might be dealing with grief, such as losing a family member or a beloved pet. You may be struggling with daily problems like past trauma, financial difficulties, or issues focusing. We help individuals feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or want to feel differently. With a supportive relationship and a safe space to share these things this process can allow the time for you to start to enjoy life, feel more confident, and recognize yourself again.

I offer in-person and virtual 45 minute sessions.
With compassion, I meet clients where they are in their lives. I spend time getting to know my clients and their own hopes for themselves. Therapy works best when clients feel connected to the therapist and are hopeful about the goals we set together. I help clients feel positive about their lives and future, work with them to accept our humanness, and offer ways to communicate their stories, even if not with words. I hold space for clients who are adults and teens trying to love the skin they are in, parents trying to understand their kids, those with new or long-term grief, and young adults figuring out the future.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
