I pull from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic, Compassionate Inquiry (CI), CBT, DBT and Psychodynamic interventions depending on the needs of each client.
Have you done therapy before, gained insight into yourself, and still feel like something is missing? Or do you notice your own patterns, but still feel blocked from living the life you want? If you're ready to move beyond awareness and into meaningful change, I'd love to work with you. Many of my clients have experienced trauma that continues to impact their relationships, emotions, or sense of self, that they haven't yet been able to fully process. Others come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about the roots of their anxiety and distress, but are unsure where to begin.

Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed? Stressed or defeated? Life seems complex in new and insurmountable ways these days. Many people struggle to find answers to problems they were never prepared for. I know it’s hard to acknowledge that we don’t know what to do. I understand the weight of asking yourself “Where do I go from here?” I support my clients by providing clarity on how their behavior and unresolved issues affect them in their daily lives. I help my clients slow down and understand what's going on cognitively and physically so that we can break cycles and create new strategies to start finishing unfinished business.

This intervention is especially interested in somatic information, in what you notice in your body when you encounter stressful situations in your life or think about past experiences.
I specialize in therapy for people who have experienced trauma and are struggling with the impact on their relationships with others and/or their relationship with themselves. This can manifest as struggling with confrontation or speaking up for yourself, like people-pleasing or avoiding a situation altogether. Therapy is where we’ll be curious about you; there is no judgment about your past, your experiences, or your feelings. We will work together to compassionately tend to the parts of you that have struggled to recover from what you’ve experienced and imagine new possibilities for your life as you move forward.

There are seasons in life that fundamentally change us. Pain and loss, new beginnings and uncertainty, or simply existing in the in-between can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and unsure of how to find your way back. This can be a place to slow down, breathe, and show up exactly as you are. I believe healing often begins by being witnessed in your humanity—the simple acknowledgment of being a hurting human who is doing your best, and having someone stay with you as you find your way. I'm here to help you tend to your wounds, even when it means wincing.

My work integrates psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and somatic approaches.
You might be looking for a therapist because the life you've built just doesn't feel like enough. Maybe the career you worked so hard for is now feeling empty or aimless. Maybe your relationships are leaving you feeling disconnected rather than close. Maybe you're realizing how much of your life was shaped by what was expected of you, rather than your true desires. You know something needs to change, but you don't know how to get there. Therapy can be a space to understand yourself more deeply. A space to feel less alone and start moving toward a life that feels more whole.

Do you hear your inner critic telling you, “I am not good enough,” “I am not worth it?” Does it feel overwhelming to experience uncertainty in everyday life and relationships? The key is to understand why certain relationship patterns repeat—and more importantly, why you repeat them, even when you know they don't help. I help young professionals move from self-criticism to being able to show up as their full selves—without needing to earn belonging by shrinking, pleasing, or proving. My intention is for you to come to a place where you can speak clearly—so you can feel like an active agent in your daily life and relationships.

Some techniques I use are EMDR, mindfulness-based cognitive therapies, and somatic resourcing such as yoga to assist with connecting to your mind, body, and spirit.
Have you felt the rawness of isolation and the storm of complex struggles taking over your mind, body, and spirit? As a holistic trauma-informed psychotherapist, I am dedicated to treating your nervous system. Through working together, we will be able to unpack deep-rooted emotions, address where they first began to appear in your life, and help you pour into watering your overall wellbeing. I do this by holding space in a non-judgmental and inclusive environment. My expertise includes working with survivors of sexual trauma, however I work with all origins of emotional pain derived from the many interwoven facets of trauma.

When life gets overwhelming and you stop being able to make sense of your feelings, it can help to have someone to talk to and untangle the thorny knots of past, present and future. We work together in the present moment to make sense of the physical sensations you experience and the feelings they bring up. You deserve a compassionate space to reveal and process the things that trip you up, from relationships to life transitions and beyond. Your healing is personal, your therapy should be too.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
