I am trained in Internal Family Systems ( IFS), EMDR, narrative therapy, and sex therapy.
What are you looking for? It’s a question we’ve all heard before — maybe too many times, especially in New York where it pops up on every dating app. It can feel cliché, even irritating. And yet, it’s also one of the hardest questions we face. We don’t always know what we’re looking for, which can leave us feeling restless, stuck, or disconnected. That’s often where therapy begins. There’s no perfect way to prepare for what life throws at us, but we can try to carry it through with some resilience, a bit of grace, and even a little humor.

I support teens and adults who are navigating life transitions, healing from trauma, and struggling with anxiety and depression. As a Korean-American child of immigrants, I am passionate about working with BIPOC and immigrant individuals who are navigating the liminal spaces between cultures and identities. I also have particular experience survivors of complex trauma, including hate crimes, interpersonal violence, and sexual assault.
As your therapist, I’ll accompany you as we develop a new way to understand your story and face the hard questions that might come up for you when you consider all that has shaped you.

Making the decision to start therapy is one the best gifts you can give yourself. That might sound cliché, but giving yourself permission to finally focus on your own needs and discover more about yourself can be an incredible process. This is especially true if perhaps you’ve gotten used to putting the needs of others first, by being a caregiver to a parent or family member who may be struggling with a physical or mental illness or substance misuse. Learning to put the focus back on yourself and figuring out what gives you happiness and fulfillment is one the many ways that a good therapeutic relationship can enrich your life.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself in a supportive environment. Together, we will explore the parts of you that have helped you survive and consider whether they still serve the life you want to create. I work with people navigating anxiety, chronic pain, body image concerns, and relational stress, especially when these experiences show up in daily life and in the body.

I incorporate ideas from attachment theory, Internal Family Systems ( IFS), mindfulness, the neurobiological impacts of trauma on the body, and the subsequent somatic work.
I work with young adults who are carrying the impact of past trauma, whether from childhood or relationships, and who may find themselves struggling with anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), people-pleasing tendencies, or family and relationship challenges. I also enjoy working with young adults as they navigate self-discovery, life transitions, and the exploration of LGBTQIA+ identity.

Living with anxiety, trauma, or overwhelming stress can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, from others, and from life in New York. You may notice the same patterns repeating, or realize that the coping strategies that once helped no longer bring relief. Reaching out is a courageous step, and in therapy, you will not have to face these struggles alone. I offer an experiential and humanistic approach that allows you to feel supported as you begin creating lasting change.
